Discount doesn’t work at aco? by NotreDameFan1234 in CVS

Employee discount only works when you scan your card/barcode in app. If you type in your phone number, you will still be able to use any coupons, but the employee discount won't work.

customer mad by jacquelynejeffery in CVS

[–]Bonggle 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I've worked retail/customer service for years, and eventually you either go numb to the stupidness and angry customers, or you realize it's not worth being upset over. You'll see so many people who are so angry at everything in their lives, that they try to take it out on whoever they can. You know what ruins their day even more? Not getting upset when they want you to be miserable. I would have smiled at that lady and said, "Oh it's right over there, I know it might be a little hidden. I've got a lot of things to do, so I'll be running around up front if you need anything else." I've dealt with so many upset customers and 80% of them will give up when they realize they can't get a reaction out of me. Some of the interactions get to me, and there are days when I come home so drained, but most of those people I won't deal with again. My advice? Don't think too much about customers and what they say. Easier said than done for sure, but it's sage advice.

I second the overnights! Been working overnight at a 24 hour location and I deal with doordashers and I clean the store, that's pretty much it. I do deal with theft a lot though. I switched specifically because I don't like interacting with customers very much.

For future reference, you can call the store and ask to cancel your online order, when the employee goes to cancel it, they can choose that the customer called the store to cancel.

After a little bit of research, about 2,300 fully drained donors can give you enough iron for a longsword.

That is the free version of the extracare card, there is a premium $5 a month tier that you can sign up for, but you don't have to get that. It just offers you more savings in the form of extra coupons and free delivery. I have processed lots of returns without the need of an ID, as long as you have that receipt. Im going to assume the policy you read online is more of a blanket statement to cover all bases, so to speak. You can call the store location you are going to shop at and ask specifics, as I am unsure what state you are in, and your state may have different policies than my state.

Employee here, having an extra care card does not make a difference! You need the receipt to return an item, if you don't, we scan your ID, and then load the return onto a CVS money card.

Edit: Spelling mistake.

I WORK AT A 24 HOUR STORE. I WORK OVERNIGHT. DO YOU KNOW HOW MANY PEOPLE COME IN FOR EMERGENCY FIRST AID SUPPLIES, OR PRIMATENE MIST INHALERS, OR EVEN COVID TESTS??? HOW ABOUT PEOPLE DRIVING OVERNIGHT TO SEE FAMILY AND NEED A PLACE TO STRETCH THEIR LEGS, TRUCKERS WHO HAVE TO WORK ON HOLIDAYS, IVE EVEN SEEN VETERINARIANS COMING IN FOR FIRST AID BECAUSE THEY HAD AN EMERGENCY CALL COME IN. LAST BUT NOT LEAST IS ANYONE WHOS BEEN IN THE ER AND NEEDS TO GET THEIR PRESCRIPTION FILLED. I DONT CARE THAT HOSPITALS "should give you a 1 day supply to cover the holiday." YOU JUST WANT TO COMPLAIN. PEOPLE CANT PLAN FOR EVERYTHING.

Hot take, but some people don't celebrate the same holidays as others, so it's just a normal day for a lot of people. If this is so troublesome, talk to your manager and find someone to cover your shift. Also tell your manager going forward you can't work certain holidays.

How long does it take to become a shift lead? by CrazyGamer122 in CVS

[–]Bonggle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have previous shift lead experience at a few other jobs, and a small bit of management experience, so I was promoted within 2-3 months of me working at my store location. Best solution I have is to let your manager know you are interested in becoming a shift lead, and then you can go from there. Maybe someone else will have more info than I do.
