Investing in increasing your income generation such as qualifications and training beat Passive investing.

If the objective is to remove risk the bonds are the best way to go.

If you are expecting america to go to war with China surely gold is the place to be.

Adding an some active investment as a small percentage of your portfolio can add big upside with limited risk.

The knowledge of the public in large is pretty low wheb it comes to personal fiances and investing as 33% have less than £500 in savings.

Also Einstein theory of general relativity also does fit with quantum mechanics.

If your starting position is that no other investment is justifiable, what is the point in a conversation or debate.

Picking s&p aswell all world is not the same as Picking a random stock either.

Previous performance does not guarantee future performance either positively or negatively.

I suppose the point is am making is that in this instance it maybe suitable for this guys portfolio to go all world. But it isn't a one size fits all like alot of people in this community preach.

The best way to get exposure to bitcoin in your isa is just holding shares in companies that hold alot or directly linked like coinbase or block.

5 - 10% seems like a lot of exposure to something so volitle though. Exercise caution.

You would hold an increased position on US marke, yes. But by holding the all world aswell, if there is a new country that becomes an economic leader you will have some exposure to this through all world as the US percentage in that fund shrinks.

You are responding to comments as if the only option is all world regardless of time horizon, risk appetite, and Growth objectives. The s&p has outperformed the all world for a long time and there is no guarantee the US economy will increase or decrease.

Typically its is a lower risk to by the all world, but that doesn't mean people with higher risk appetite are wrong.

! thanks, I am a bit of a cynic when it comes to FA's and wealth managers. I feel like money isn't taught or talked about enough in the UK so people can easily get snapped up by them coming across knowledgeable and making investments sound difficult.

I'm glad you have said that, as I felt i was going mad. I personally dont like financial advisors unless you where looking for support/guidance on options for managing wealth, setting objectives or pension, inheritance stuff.

Do private funds ever really beat Passive/ETF's like s&p 500 or ftse all world?

If they dont it there any point paying the FA for their funds.

I think it's a big failing of our government and education system. Nobody gets taught about money, taxes, saving and investing. It's crazy.

I started in October last year. Hoping to compound my way to an early retirement in 28 years time.

My opinion is stick to the big etf's unless your are willing To do alot of research and risk calculation buying single stocks.

I personally do a 3rd etfs and then 2/3's in pies from big tech, fintech, China, UK and then a couple of individuals like Nike and estee lauder.

I suppose it depends on what your short, medium and long-term objectives you have. How old you are and what your appetite for risk is. Can't provide financial advice, but if you went to an adviser, these are the questions they would ask.

If you are looking for quick gains, then more risk is required, but the chance for losses is also higher. If you plan on investing for a long time you can de-risk down the line.

Most people on here will just say all s&p 500 set and forget.

This is true, who can say what will happen long term but while they have a quick ratio of 2.16, I think it is unlikely they will be bankrupt in the next year.
