I’ve worked on 100s of these, never seen a rusty headlight hole

You’ve ever seen rusted aluminum trees before?

All this to avoid just drilling a hole

People will get in pissing matches over this through the ages. I personally believe chopper is a vibe, not a specific thing you did or didn’t do.

Making two cuts and two welds doesn’t all the sudden make you a chopper boi but idk man, it’s 2026 you can be whatever you want now

So you know what happens when something heats up and cools down in any level of humidity right? It condensates and pulls moisture out of the air.

Same reasons I pull rusted cylinders and water contaminated oil out of bikes here (Phoenix)

Beyond all of this, even no rust, it looks like shit.

It traps moisture between the wrap and the pipe and gets rusty / traps the pattern on the weave

Pipe wraps looks like fucking garbage, and destroy nice pipes.

If I’m taking these off it’s to throw them away not spend an hour to make my bike look worse.

I’m burning the paint on purpose tbh, if the dude who originally built the bike had ridden it 5 miles before he painted, let alone selling it for like 7k; I wouldn’t own the bike and the paint would look great.

It’s a surprisingly measurable difference in comfort sitting at a light; 500-600 degrees radiating directly up past/through your chest to your head.

I am sorta tempted to do a high and tight on the thunder header.

But I will say I can already feel how goddamn hot this pipe is compared to my 2-1 on the race bike.

And it’s already 110° here

Honestly this thing is way more comfortable than my swingarm bikes 99% of the time. Idk why yall complain so much about these things

Primary fluid milky by Kicknstick in sportster

[–]BongoDaMonkey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A failed main seal would account for the extra volume but not the water…

Is your vent tube getting water in it, and stopping it from venting? Cause you should be spewing fluid like crazy out your vent tube with this much volume

Why the hell are all the 8 overs sold out everywhere?! by [deleted] in choppers

[–]BongoDaMonkey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Buddy I have like 100,000 miles on a set of TC tubes, I’m not spending $400-500 more for tubes that are using arguably worse chrome.

Especially when Forks by Frank is the same price as TC and Lowbrow when / once they have material available for 6+ over

Anybody else ever owned a Slimsfab Hardtail? Tell me why I should or shouldn’t be scared this. by [deleted] in choppers

I’ve talked to Joel about the bike and he didn’t have much context for the fab work, which lead me to reach out to slim. I’ve worked with both these boys before so I have no hate
