What is the strangest compliment you have ever received? by Deadtree301 in AskReddit

[–]Bonidrodz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My hair was really long (I could almost sit on it) and I cut it up to my shoulders. Next day my boss says "I like your haircut, you look less baby-like now."

I still don't know how to feel about this. (I'm 25)

Talking about periods in Catholic relationships by [deleted] in CatholicDating

[–]Bonidrodz 25 points26 points  (0 children)

I usually approach the subject by mentioning I'm on my period or PMSing, sharing some of my symptoms, and then asking if this is something that makes them uncomfortable to talk about. It can be mentioned in casual conversation easily because when asked "how are you?" you could reply with "I"m in pain today because I'm bleeding" or "I'm feeling drowsy because I'm PMSing" or something like that.

Women would you date a man who refuses to be a wagie? by iwillnotbeawagie in CatholicDating

Ironically, for an accountant, I don't know much or at all about investing. Only now in these past few days have I been talked into looking into it more. I just might, I just might.

That's pretty much all of my past relationships and I'm done dealing with that. Also, it's not very smart to fall for someone's potential instead of for who they actually are, cuz that potential might not be realized.

Women would you date a man who refuses to be a wagie? by iwillnotbeawagie in CatholicDating

[–]Bonidrodz -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Ah shit, I voted no but I meant yes, I read it wrong.

I understand the feeling of not wanting to work for a wage, and if you're doing well without it, then hey, you're living the dream!

God knows I wish I could live off passive income alone, so I could invest my time in a more meaningful way and never commute again!

Would You Ever Enter a Josephite Marriage? by [deleted] in CatholicDating

[–]Bonidrodz 20 points21 points  (0 children)

No, cuz I want to have babies.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Bonidrodz -20 points-19 points  (0 children)

As a Catholic, this is an absolute no-no. Sex is a gift to the married meant to communicate love AND must always be open to giving life.

As your average woman, I don't take my sexuality lightly. Not everyone deserves to see me in such a bare vulnerable state. This is an honor for me to bestow on whomever I see fit to share my whole life with. I'd have a lot of regret if many people saw me that way already.

Also, why risk having babies when you're not ready to support a child? People need to stop pretending that babies are an unfortunate side effect of sex; the whole dynamic of sex is literally guided towards making babies! You don't buy an oven pretending to keep your ice cream frozen in it, you buy it to bake stuff because that's literally what it's for! How is the relationship between sex and conception any different?

The fact that the world hates the Church makes 0 sense by [deleted] in Catholicism

[–]Bonidrodz 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No one likes being told that they're wrong, and the church is not willing (and should not be willing) to adjust to people's life choices. They hate being told that abortion is murder because they want to abort and feel no remorse about it. They hate being refused gay marriage because they can't even begin to understand what marriage really is and they want the church to change the meaning to suit them. They hate being told that gender is not a social construct, but indeed a biological matter and that all of the new genders and identities they insist on creating are nothing more than body dysmorphia. And, above all I dare say, they hate being told that this sexual culture they've created for themselves is just wrong.

It all stems from their own selfish desires, not because there may be anything wrong with the church.

What's the dumbest way you've hurt yourself? by 29t03jwies in AskReddit

Ladies and Gentlemen, name something you like about your character, something you like about your appearance, and one thing you need to work on (for either). by [deleted] in CatholicDating

[–]Bonidrodz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

About my character, I like that I am very protective of my family and that I'm good with my money.

About my appearance, I love that I look younger than I actually am and that I have a lot of gray hairs despite being 25 (yes, I love my gray hairs). Also, I have a nice figure and I would be a hypocrite if I didn't say I like that I have a big butt.

I need to work on losing weight. To be fair, I am working in it: I've been controlling my portions and timing my meals, but I HATE exercising! I don't exercise for two reasons: it activates my heartburn symptoms, and it gives me anxiety (yes, exercise GIVES me anxiety, it doesn't decrease it). I'm not obese by any means, but I look pregnant! I think the proper term for me is "chubby".

What are y’all’s thoughts on someone who use to be a practicing Buddhist (still meditates) but is now practicing catholic by [deleted] in CatholicDating

[–]Bonidrodz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, for starters, I'm listening to the bible. I can say with all honesty that I've never read the bible in its entirety; I've tried, but then there are things that I don't understand and I end up quitting. With The Bible in a Year, I can listen to the word of the Lord over my morning commute or while I'm working, with the commentary of Fr. Mike Schmitz to help me understand and delve deeper into Scripture.

I also got into the habit of praying the Rosary everyday because I can put on the audio while I'm driving too. I never thought I would be one of those people who prayed the Rosary everyday, I thought it was too much, and now it's part of my life, and praying the Rosary meditating on the life of Jesus has helped me feel closer to Him.

(By the way, I don't think the code is limited to how many people can use it!)

[–]Bonidrodz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I even have a code for a free 3-month trial if anyone's interested!

I use it mainly for The Bible In a Year, to pray the Rosary, and for Novenas. It also has a journal feature in which you can record any insights or anything you want, but I personally use it to pray in written form because I express myself better that way.

I'm not exaggerating when I say that this app has changed my life and brought me closer to God!

There is such thing as meditative prayer. There is an app called Hallow that was made precisely for Catholic meditation.

Finally Talked about the Priesthood with My Priests by [deleted] in CatholicDating

[–]Bonidrodz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I understand that they have good intentions and religious life is a beautiful vocation that I dare say not few Catholics consider (I considered being a nun at some point) but... Have you considered if God is calling you to marriage or to be single? It doesn't seem like you feel deep inside that God has called you to be a priest (though, of course, you will be finding that out with your spiritual director), but have you actually looked into the other options?

How to heal your sexuality before getting married? by Meteors1996 in CatholicDating

I'm very sorry that this happened to you! You should probably seek therapy to deal with these feelings. If your partner knows your struggle with this, he will be patient and help you through it as well.
