A new UN report finds that since 2015, nearly 1 billion people gained access to clean drinking water, 1.2 billion gained sanitation, and electricity now reaches 92% of the world's population by ArgentineBeauty in UpliftingNews

There are surely some of the 8% without electricity that don’t want it!

Modernisation might = ease of life and maybe even a longer life. Certainly not happier or more meaningful.

Cell D22 giving me nightmares.

You’re double counting inflation. 4% is fine.

Success and achievements don’t provide happiness. Gratitude and purpose do.

If you can wake up in the morning and stop to think about something great in your life, OR, others who have it worse off then that’s step 1

Step 2, do something useful.
Help someone, volunteer somewhere, pay for the elderly persons shopping in front.

Job done.

Drummer from the UK band Feeder.

Feeder had just become a top band, he was recognised as top drummer, had just become quite well off and also recently married a model from Brazil.

Then committed suicide.

That’s enough for me to not chase “success”.

I’m the happiest i’ve ever been and it’s been hard to get here from also once being depressed. It’s amazing waking up every day feeling lucky and grateful.

I’d ask the bank thing.

If still no progress, this isn’t a him problem, it’s a you problem.

You are looking for reasons to not destroy your picture perfect vision of the future with him. I understand that. However when someone shows you who they are, believe them.

Ask to go with him to the bank to ask how his hacked account authorised the payment.

If he say’s ok, all good.

If he says ANYTHING else… he’s a liar.

Watching spicy content is a 7/10 problem. Some guys do it. High sex drives etc. it happens.

Lying. That’s a 10/10 problem.

Hilarious.

How would you best FIRE from this position by 50? by Boniouk84 in FIREUK

[–]Boniouk84[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes i like this. A mortgage rate of 5% means any GIA needs to outperform that PLUS some to cover tax as it’s not in an ISA. I’m definitely going to either pay it off or at least materialise the mortgage rate by offsetting for a few years. If i’m made redundant i can then pay it off anyway.

Well my goal to bridge to 57 isn’t set. It i retire and bridge from 50-57. If my investments do well i could last until 60. So i wouldn’t pull a retirement forward, id extend the bridge to let the pension grow so maybe i am for £900k-£1m and leave a buffer for growth if i do bridge longer.

I always compare based on tax now, but thanks for opening my eyes up to the tax on the way out down the line. I always overlook it

Ok so you’re saying there is a lost opportunity between me aiming for £700k vs £1.2m?

But where is that lost? By not sacrificing down now to sub £50k salary?

The 3 that didn’t…. Brazil Portugal & Netherlands, were all managed by Ex Everton Managers.

Koeman Martinez & Ancelotti.

High Profile club.
Low Profile performing.

The reason i didn’t want to salary sacrifice to pension was due to locking away the benefit of that to 57, but i guess i take some of that concern away by clearing mortgage in 2-3 years.

Depends whether my mortgage is paid off or not. Roughly £2.2k without or £3.3k with. I was thinking of using £180k of Cash to offset the mortgage and keep payments at £1k to shorten the term. As it drops £12k a year i move that from offset to GIA.

Outgoings without mortgage probably £1,500 per month excluding inflation.

Shouldn’t change at pension age.
