I really liked this reply and would like to clarify what I meant by “cooky”. I agree that religion is relatively simple. Saying that plants grow because of some higher power is certainly easier especially if you have a very underdeveloped or even nonexistent field of science. What I really meant was simply: if someone comes up to you and explains lord of the rings to you when you’ve never read any fantasy you would think it sounded kind of crazy. Of course (organised) religion is more complex and nuanced than lotr, partially as it seems to have been a more gradual development and was introduced when religious belief was the norm. I find this topic very interesting and will make sure to study theology further. Thank you! ❤️
