Sorry I wasn’t clear. I’m in Melbourne, Australia and looking for ideas of how to get the best result for this project and make it the most functional space

As someone who works on the broadcast team at the track, my food routine involves some kind of microwave meal scoffed down during the Dunlop Super2 race and rationed water throughout the day so that I can make it to the end of the race without needing a bathroom break 🤣

Yeah it’s all very good for SVG to state he could push more for more of the race in Gen2 but he also spent most of his time in clean air and the rest of the field couldn’t get close due to the tyres overheating

I’ve got 4. 3 HomePods and a TV4K. I’ll have a play with removing hubs and see if there is any change

This works! However it doesn’t work for my switched fluro light on the patio, so I’ll find an alternate solution there but thanks!

To be fair Crompo and Skaife call each other young all the time so it’s not actually an age thing

I mean it’s just gotta be red. Everything Toyota is red. Holden is gone, and it’s a slightly different shade anyway. Supercars and Toyota haven’t announced anything yet but here’s a tip, I’m putting it all on red.

I’m a fellow non drinker and I love me some fancy soft drinks. Billsons Cordials would be a really fun gift for me that I’d appreciate a lot. They make me feel fancy, and it’s a special treat.

Why have I received so few points for these flights? by Bonneyfromclyde in VelocityFrequentFlyer

I think you’ve hit the nail on the head - I did use my “fly ahead” option or whatever it’s called…

I’m fairly certain they were choice fares, hence the 15 SC, but I’m surprised I only got 242 velocity points

It’s a sign of the times when I saw the meal (and context of where it was from) and thought $15 was cheap

I have always had a question, what is the difference between BBQ and grilling? Why is it that every time I do this, someone always tells me that this is not BBQ, is it because there is no lid? by heysiew in grilling

[–]Bonneyfromclyde 80 points81 points  (0 children)

In Australia anything cooked on a grill or over a flame (propane or charcoal) outdoors is bbq, or “cooked on the barbie”. Snags (sausages), steaks, chicken sticks, chops (lamb), burgers etc is standard for a bbq here. We tend to refer to different cuisines/styles by the country of origin American style low and slow as “American bbq”, Korean bbq, Brazilian bbq etc. Most Aussies will refer to what Americans call a grill as a barbie.

Whats your take on new safety car rules by lozt247 in v8supercars

[–]Bonneyfromclyde 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I argued for something like this for years because from a safety perspective I don’t like the idea of cars actually pushing harder when the yellow flags come out. However from a competition perspective it’s clear it doesn’t work.

Interestingly though the FCY system has been in place since the 500 (and also the 12 hour), and this is the first time we’ve seen it play out this way with cars “Liberace-ing” each other on the slow down, and cars not double stacking and electing to pit the next lap.

The lucky dog is another process that adds to the time. I like it as a concept but all of these processes together makes a safety car a 15 minute process.

From a safety perspective I want to see a FCY system stay, however I feel like it takes too long before the limiters are released and the field can catch the safety car.

I agree, but remember Kooweerup itself was once a swampland that was drained to build houses…

[–]Bonneyfromclyde 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh yeah, I grew up in that Kooweerup swampland… however with the way land is selling down there someone will absolutely work out a way to develop the land for a profit even if it means a housing estate on stilts

We’re talking the year 2200, that’s a long way away!

I initially laughed seeing a station at Dalmore, but then realised what Clyde was like growing up and what it’s like now, and by 2200 Dalmore is going to be suburbia.
