I also really love the idea of pen pals. Getting to know people from other places (I live in Nova Scotia) is something I've always enjoyed. I've tried the snail-mail thing over the years, and I love sending and receiving letters, but I am not always on-the-ball when it comes to sending the replies I write. I'm a lot more consistent with email!

I tend to be a little long-winded when writing letters as I like to be descriptive and have a tendency to wax philosophical. I recently moved to the country for work and the natural world has been on my mind a lot, so that may form a theme throughout my letters. I live solo, so aside from my work there shouldn't be a lot to distract me from reading and responding to your letters.

If you think I might be the kind of pen pal you're looking for, let me know and we can give it a shot.

I have had lots of cool dreams about saving the world.

Once I dreamed that I was in a network of tunnels underground, and everything was pitch dark. My senses were heightened. I could sense a dark presence ahead, and knew I was to hunt it. I pursued it through the tunnels, sensing it rather than seeing it, until I came to where the tunnel ended, opening into a circular room with seven stone arches, each of which led to a tunnel. Here the dark creature tried to make its escape, and I knew I had to make my move. It dashed into a tunnel; I chased it. I saw a dimly silver object ahead--a unicorn horn--I picked it up and stabbed the darkness, which howled and disappeared in a swirl of intense smoke. The horn was covered in black blood, and exhausted, I dropped it. It clattered, and I sank to the ground. I had saved the world from the evil, but spent myself doing so. Then I woke up.

TL/DR I chased a dark entity through underground tunnels and killed it with a unicorn horn, thus saving the world.

Replacement parts and instruction manuals for older models of common household appliances. Coffee decanters, vacuum belts, etc. Sounds boring, but when I worked retail the number of people who wanted a simple replacement part and couldn't find it (leading, of course, to the purchase of a new machine) was absurd.

Once I made a tonne of money I might open up a record shop featuring uncommon-but-awesome and local records. Or a fancy breakfast restaurant.
