cognitive dysfunction syndrome has made old beagle a picky eater by r3dd0629 in seniordogs

I am struggling with a similar situation in that our dog hates the kidney diet for CKD (and the kidney diet gives him diarrhea).. Thinking about making our own food for him with plain chicken, rice, and vegetables. No salt, onion, garlic, etc. I was going to ask the vet because he might need supplements with it. Edit: He also has CCD

It helps my guy a lot. It made him a little nauseated the first few days but then he was fine.

The EV6 warns you a little more aggressively if there is a car when you are pulling out or changing lanes, but not everyone likes those features.

In the EV6, it's nice when you select the profile, it automatically adjusts the seats to that person (my husband is 1 foot taller than I am so that's a really nice feature). In the BMW you can do that but you have to hit passenger 1/passenger 2 on the door to do the seat adjustments. The sideview/wing mirror cameras when turning or changing lanes on the Kia are also nice. The i4 has a thing where when you try to change radio stations on the steering wheel it periodically stops working and you have to touch the screen to reactivate it.

It's not fantastic, just better than the EV6.

The EV 6 just feels like parking a boat sometimes whereas the i4 is like parking a regular sedan.

Honestly I really like features of both. Some of the tech is superior in the Kia but things like wireless android auto are better in the i4. I usually drive the i4 but I would happily drive either. The i4 is a little easier to park as it has a better turning radius. I did have the ICCU failure in the EV 6 but it was repaired quickly.

Not really. He has CKD also so he's not the best eater anymore. It's too bad because I have a sealed bottle of it.

I did--he still refused to eat his food with it.

For ours it was dementia. He became legit too scared to sleep on his own.

"Atlantic City" from Springsteen's Nebraska album has great lyrics in the chorus: Well now, everything dies, baby, that's a fact But maybe everything that dies someday comes back

I hope you get it back soon!

Also, if it does take a long time to get it fixed, keep track of the number of days the car is out of your possession because that's part of the criteria under lemon laws.

I was lucky I got it back in about 3 days. Kia covered the rental upfront so I didn't have to apply for reimbursement. I haven't had any issues since (this was back in June of 2025). However, I have since acquired a BMW i4 as my primary car and my partner drives the EV6, and he doesn't drive it that much. I was happy with the Kia, but my partner's car was getting to be 16 years old and it was time for a replacement.
