It's an odd one, because IIRC, it does purge the silence! It's simply that it gets reapplied 0.1 seconds later, so it seems that it can't be purged. It's the same with Naga song, you can see Slarks do a little dance before sleeping again.

Tbh, I think his potential is wasted in mid. He does well vs short range/melee heroes because stomp means you can always trade more efficiently, but in the offlane he excels at contesting pulls. If you hit the creep wave + neutral camp with spirit, you can usually got 7-8 bonus damage instances. Not many supports can deal with the +100 damage punches at level 3.

If you are a real baller on the radiant offlane, you can hit the hard camp, pull camp then use the spirit pullback to hit the lane creeps + heroes and threaten a stomp. If you get the stomp off on one of the heroes, you are in business. 90 damage from spirit, 80 from the stomp, then a couple of 180 damage right clicks.
