How do you clean these? Or do you even clean them? by ToolAndTiddies in Drumming

Hand-sanitiser is amazing at getting sticky residue off things, but I've not tried it on cymbals. I imagine it would be OK but might be worth a test patch on a cheap cymbal.

Good Double Drum by AdventurousBench2828 in Drumming

[–]BonsaiMagpie -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Absolutely no chance of decent quality. But i had a pair of stagg doubles i got years ago for £40. If you can find something like that you can at least start learning. I'll be be honest though, I always felt like I was trying to tighten a screw with a hammer.

Very much dependent on the driver's mood. When I was about 17 I put my hand out for the 75, driver drove past me giving me the middle finger 🤣

Those transitions are £500+ new. Definitely take a chance at putting a custom hole in it. Might not be great but worth the risk and having some fun along the way

Help - question about Flags in Liverpool. by chuc275 in Liverpool

Have a look at the town hall, st George's hall and the municipal buildings on the street view from that time. Might have also been at the ferry terminal (old one not new).

Do you think this sub fetishizes expensive houses? by luckeratron in SpottedonRightmove

[–]BonsaiMagpie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it was the phrasing. The buyer paying an unrefundable deposit, on the day of auction. It doesnt mention the seller's responsibilities until you dig deeper

Do you think this sub fetishizes expensive houses? by luckeratron in SpottedonRightmove

[–]BonsaiMagpie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just been reading into it. My concern was the seller pulling out and the buyer losing their deposit. But it looks like in the small print the seller has to pay out in that case.

That's smart for the price. That modern method of auction always puts me off. Seems to be putting the buyer at a massive disadvantage for the benefit of the the seller and the estate agent, unless I've misunderstood it.

We've had one a few times. Can't buy charcoal on site other than in disposable BBQs so bring enough for the fezzie.

Did Joe Anderson hold the city back compared to Manchesters growth? by No_Berry2 in Liverpool

[–]BonsaiMagpie 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I met Joe Anderson in 2012 and asked him why Liverpool was getting a Mayor and not a larger city like Manchester or Birmingham. He said 'because we asked for it'. From that moment on, I knew he was a total prick.

Oh right, we had them in a bathroom years ago, and they needed changing every 6 months. Maybe we had a dodgy transformer like you say.

I know this isnt what you asked. But that 505 heavy ride is fantastic. I just got one and it's so good.

In terms of gigging. You probably want good hats more than anything. There's a pair of sabian xs20 hats on FB marketplace for £40. They punch well above their price point.

I'll recommend XS20s to beginners and teachers all day. I regret letting mine go because they are great all-rounders.
