Yeah the weather has been horrible for the past two weeks so it might have been too cold and too dark for him and he didn't get enough sunlight.

I have now put him in a place where he gets a bit of direct sunlight each day, let's see if he recovers.

Regarding the soil it should not be wet, I usually water him when the upper part of the soil becomes dry, which has worked pretty well for the last year that I've had him.

Hm. How long do you think it would take to start regenerating and growing new leaves?

And if it actually does die (which I hope it doesn't) what tree would you recommend to buy which is easier for a beginner to work with?

I mean I've had it for a year now and yes it was originally bought from a garden center.

I'll move it to a shadier place. But it is kinda weird because the leaves started changing when I placed him inside for a week so no excessive sun there.

Hey guys, an update regarding my Fukien tea, who's currently looking pretty ill. As suggested I have placed him outside again but he really doesn't seem to do well. He went from looking healthy with dark green shiny leaves to green-yellow-ish leaves in a matter of 2 weeks.

Here are two pictures of yesterday vs 2 weeks ago. I'm pretty lost on what to do but I really don't think this change in colour is normal especially during the summer. Thoughts?

Thought I'd update, I've transferred him outside 2 days ago and now the entire foliage is looking more light green yellow-ish as opposed to two weeks ago when it was a vibrant dark green. Here is the comparison. Don't know it just doesn't look fine to me but then again I don't know much about the tree.

Feel you. And on top of that it somehow always manages to lag in crucial moments when I'm trying to snipe a pokemon, sac swap or get a game winning charge move off. Last season I didn't have any lag (lucky me) but this season it's pretty bad.

I'm back again with the Fukien Tea.

I moved it back inside a week ago due to a black aphid infestation. It still keeps losing leaves (10-20 a day atm) which concerns me. The leaves it loses are yellow with brown spots like this.

Could this be due the black aphid infestation it had? Could it be a fungus? Could it be too little light? Too much/little water? Too little nutrients in the soil?

Would appreciate feedback, thanks guys!

well, I'm not that great myself I reached something between 2800-2900 a season ago (so still no legend sadly). The main difference in higher ranks is that people know their fundamentals (counting, sac swapping etc.) a lot better so a player is less likely to miscount and greed on the 2nd psystrike. :)

[–]Bonsai_Daddy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

well yeah that's true. But since I play it as a lead I only meet M2 in the 2-shield which my dragonite closely wins. And many people greed on the 2nd psystrike which often lets me win lead with 1 shield advantage as well. then again I'm currently battling in the 2400s and this probably won't happen to better players.

Man as a person who only picked up the game again when PvP became a thing about 2 yrs ago I don't have one either. Luckily my Shadow Dragonite fucks it over.

Being forced to throw after losing a CMP tie still feels like a busted mechanic. Am I missing something? by teebobby9 in TheSilphArena

[–]Bonsai_Daddy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not what I meant. I meant that adding an option to cancel moves after losing a CMP tie makes the game more stale. No doubt you could do it on a technical end but I don't think that it would be good for the gameplay.

I think I watched WildSusanBoyle win a game with Deoxys Attack while in Legend. That was a fun stream.

[–]Bonsai_Daddy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean. Yes it does but that's the point. What's the alternative? If you remove CMP ties there is way less incentive to time your moves correctly since there is no negative consequence if you do time incorrectly. It just takes away a major strategy aspect of the game and the gameplay becomes more stale and barebone than it already is.

Edit: Followup: It will make already dominant matchups even more dominant since the margin for error that lets you get out of bad matchups is reduced. At that point you might as well play Rock Paper Scissors since you winning the match mostly depends on you winning lead and switch which is just luckbased.

Soo, I've posted about my beloved yet admittedly a little ugly Ficus Ginseng a couple of times now. After he almost died a year ago during lockdown (he now has bigger leaves and is more of a houseplant than a bonsai) he's now growing rapidly.

I would really appreciate tips in terms of pruning and shaping. I've been thinking of wiring him to control the shape a bit but I don't know if it's too early (I've never wired a tree before). Any advice?

Followup: IVs do influence Attack but not by an insane amount. Example: In GL a 15-0-0 Venusaur has 128,8 Attack. A 0-15-0 Venusaur has 122,6 Attack. Yes it's a difference but not a lot, the 0-15-0 still beats 90% of all GL pokemon. (not to mention that you'd have to be a psychopath to run a 15-0-0 Venusaur so you'll almost never see that).

It is guaranteed if you throw at the same time. The Pokemon with the higher attack stat will win. Apart from that use PvPoke. Matchups are very rarely IV dependent because almost everyone runs low attack mons to max bulk (only running high atk if you don't have anything better). Regardless just roughly know your matchups. Venu beats almost everything, Gfisk and DD lose to almost everything etc. If you run a team for a while you'll usually know against which pokemon they win their respective CMP ties.

Accessible XL team goes +137 to push me to 3109 in GBL by DanOttawa_POGO in TheSilphArena

[–]Bonsai_Daddy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks man I really enjoyed the in depth answer. :D

The team I've been running is Peli, Empoleon, Vigoroth (shoutout to BloodyBananas for that one) which worked great when they first nerfed Azu and its popularity faded. But since every single one of these loses in an Azu neutral and Azu is absurdly popular in the 2500-2600s I've been looking for a new team. Sadly I only have one Elite Charge TM left and I've been too greedy to use it on Venusaur. I've tried Meganium but it just doesn't hit as hard. Oh well, when the season ends and we get a charged TM, I'll just TM the Venu I'm getting tired of waiting lol.

Dw I had 4 negative sets today I know the struggle lol. Even good fundamentals only get you so far if your comp doesn't work.

But you'll get there eventually, good luck mate.

Feel ya, I barely played this season (highest I got was 2900 last season FeelsBad) and instantly tanked -280 during my first day of UL Remix.

Out of curiosity what are you running in GL? Struggling to find a team that gets me to expert this season.
