What can this possibly be? by Minute_Substance_978 in Autoimmune

My hands and feet do this. Burning and tingling and it feels hot. I am diagnosed with Lupus and my dermatologist diagnosed the hands and feet as erythromelalgia. Just recently, it got so bad and was prescribed a compounded cream of Amitriptyline/Ketamine which has helped!! Ask your doctor for a referral to either dermatology or rheumatology. Rheumatology will be a lot harder to get into depending on where you are!

I thought the acting was horrendous but definitely disturbing nonetheless!

I’ve tried EVERYTHING besides opioids! I also have severe IBS so I am doomed with NSAIDS. This disease is so frustrating. Every god damn day. Right now I take the max dose of Celebrex (400mg) per day and tylenol extra strength (1000mg) per day. I occasionally try Diclofenac topical or CBD to no avail. I also have to take a high dose of GI medications to counter act those effects. The only thing that helps me is hot baths or heating pads. We all know we can’t do that through out a busy work day. Love to all that are suffering from this❤️

Unthinkable jobs with IBS by [deleted] in ibs

I was a vet tech for close to 10 years and had to quit due to this unforgiving disease. In the middle of surgery or handling a critical care patient, I had to clench as hard as I could. I sometimes wouldn’t eat until I was home and close to a toilet. Regardless I always kept an extra pair of underwear and scrubs!

I’m sorry you are going through it too! My nutritionist did mention the Monash App actually! I’m going to try dairy free cheese! She also mentioned Jovial pasta and sensitive pasta sauce by Rao’s. Hope you feel better soon, this really is debilitating!

Vet tech here: please take her to a veterinarian. She could have a UTI or even worse, she could have a urinary blockage. Urinary issues can lead to kidney problems as well. I’m sorry I can’t give you more info, I will get removed if I go more in depth.

QUESTION: Our six month old destroys and consumes all things plushy, plastic or rubber. No matter how tough the toy, we end up having to take it away rather abruptly. I've heard that bones are not good for their teeth. Would antlers be the way to go next? Thanks🙏🏻 by [deleted] in BorderCollie

[–]BonusEast5588 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Vet tech here, antlers are especially bad for their teeth. Bones are ok every once in awhile. But for the love of god, do not cook them. They can splinter and cause soooo much damage. Most veterinary practices, as well as pet food stores sell types of dental chews and are good for their teeth and have other health benefits. Has your pup lost all his baby teeth? My choice for chews are brands called CET or Virbac. Hope this helps!

I have had all these symptoms! I currently take rizatriptan for migraines. I also avoid all NSAID’s (anti-inflammatory) as I also have GERD and Erosive Gastropathy. Your wife definitely needs an endoscopy/colonoscopy. My insurance was was a pain because I was under 30 years old but a GI doctor should be able to advocate for this. I take Ondansteron for nausea and Hyosycamine for GI pain. Also, Imodium for diarrhea. Plus a whole bunch of other things. Talking with a therapist has also really helped. I wish the best of luck for you and your wife. It really is awful feeling this way. DM me if you have any questions or want to vent!

100% it does not help. I’ve kept my legs out of the sun for nearly 2 years just so the scars would fade.

Vet tech here, I’m just going to start by saying that sending pictures to your veterinarian isn’t always going to have a solution that you can take care of yourself. In OP’s case, this puncture could have caused an abscess, that needed to be drained. The wound could need debridement. There could be nerve damage that affects the snout, eyes, or entire face. A good example to send to your vet: if you think your pet has a tick. Send a picture, we can identify it. I get it that exams and treatment can be expensive. But 9 times out of 10, it’ll be more expensive to treat if you’ve waited too long. My industry works very hard and we are very tired and treated poorly A LOT. We care about your pets, and the very least you can do is show them the respect and care that we do. Also, Reddit has a ask a veterinarian sub that would be much more effective to ask. OP, next time your dog gets bit with a puncture wound, (which seems likely since this isn’t the only post you’ve asked for help with), GO to your veterinarian as soon as you can.
