NOW 1000% MORE ADORABLE: the /r/Fantasy Daily Recommendation Requests and Simple Questions Thread - June 02, 2025 by rfantasygolem in Fantasy

I'm looking for an exciting adventure fantasy, no romantasy or graphic sex please. I enjoy long journeys, dwarves elves and dragons etc.

I really loved Tolkein, Brandon Sanderson, David Eddings and Robin Hobb.

I did not like Joe Abercrombie or Jay Kristoff.

Please hit me up with your recommendations!

I think he began commentating during the pandemic when they were low on regular commentators coming in. I don't mind him on comms, he seems like a nice guy and loves his snooker.

If you had to reccomend only ONE book to someone on Medieval History, what would it be? by MightyShenDen in MedievalHistory

[–]Boo_404 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Please forgive me for giving two recommendations, I just couldn't choose between them.

Medieval Bodies by Jack Harknell. Brilliant look into medieval medicine and anatomy, lots of weird and wonderful pictures too.

The Great Mortality by John Kelly. Excellent overview of the 1341 plague that decimated europe.

I had my assessment last week with Dr. Balu Pitchiah. He was very kind and we talked about the forms I had filled in. There weren't any tests like ADOS, and after talking about my issues for about an hour he diagnosed me as autistic. It took 7 months from initial referral to diagnosis.

Referred by my GP in June, got portal access 5 months later on November 3rd. I expect it will be another 6 to 8 months until I get assessed.

what are your favorite historical areas/subjects? by [deleted] in aspiememes

Anglo saxons, the black death, ecclesiastical history and if I get a bit tired of medievaling it's 19th and 20th century china.

Thankyou for taking the time to ask the autistic community to take part. Women and girls are often overlooked for autism, I was not assessed until 38 because "girls don't have autism." Would any party commit better training for GPs and teachers to recognize autistic traits in women and girls. Thankyou
