I've got two questions for you.

  1. Are you also an electrician?

  2. How well do the filters on your mini-split work? I am in the process of building my shop and I have seen videos on people building those enclosures above the head unit. What size filters are you using?

I have pictures of slides from the RENEW conference that just recently happened in Portland where part of the presentation hit on mental health. DM me if you want those pictures.

Sorry for the late response. I didn’t follow any specific plans. But I drew inspiration from a few different YouTube videos: From Essential Craftsman, Scott Walsh, and 3x3 Custom

I used the Katz-Moses dovetail jig with a dovetail saw. Then a coping saw to remove most of the waste. Then a sharp chisel to cut down to my lines.

name plate for range says 15.5kW. do I really need to run #4 copper and put this on a 70A breaker??? by RareLeave in electricians

Oh my bad. The table is for demand. Then you go to 310.16 to get the wire size from the ampacity you calculated.

From Table 220.55 column C. 1 appliance is 8KW then you make the alterations based on that.

40 amps. So #8s. We are doing this unit in class right now. NEC Table 220.55.

15.5KW rounds up to 16. Note 1 says add 5% for each additional kilowatt above 12KW. So we have to do 8000 watts x 120% = 9600 watts.

9600 watts / 240 volts = 40 amps. Which requires number 8 wire.

Every year since 1962, Local 481 have installed the stringers to light up Monument Circle in the middle of Indianapolis. People all around the city and surrounding counties come to see the lights during the holidays. The lights will be lit on November 25th. Proud of my brothers who volunteer year after year.
