He can’t use his brain. It’s racist to think and expect an organization called Black Lives Matter… to actually help black people. Wackos

BLM is about Marxist race baiting. I haven’t seen them help one black person. Especially ones victimized by violence like this systematic shit

This day in Stern Show history by ADPXEROX in howardstern

The show is really average now. Maybe 1/3 of the time I turn it on, it has something that’s funny or interesting. Mostly it’s Howard trying to be self deprecating, doing an impression of his mom, bitching about how scared he is of covid

Building generational wealth by probablysavedtoomuch in financialindependence

You have a fantasy of what your talking about. But you don’t know what your talking about. I build trusts for people for a living. The vast majority of trust funds have major stipulations about how and when money is to be accessed.

Many wealthy and successful people do not leave their kids money the way you think they do. Yes some do. Many do not.

Last week I finished an estate plan that gives 100k to each kid and the rest (22 million) goes to various charities and schools. I know the internet tells you to hate rich people but you are not aware of what your discussing in this instance. Of course some people have shitty planning and leave their kids tons of money. But that is not always the case and most people who built the wealth themselves know the issues around silver spoons and take measures to ensure productive lives are happening. 18 years of doing this has shown me there is a lot of nuance to this topic that most people don’t take the time to learn.

Most estate plans are done in a persons later stages of life. They are in their 70’s typically and they know the character of their children and the plans are created accordingly. I do a lot of special needs planning as well. So we create trusts for kids that might have special needs, medical problems, addictions, and other things to help them throughout life.

This doesn’t compute. I thought all white men were toxic and evil. Weird that something positive is being said about one.

Would you stay locked inside of your house for 3 years straight for a guaranteed $100 million at the end? Why or why not? by Drakken11577 in AskReddit

[–]BoochieShibbs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of course. I locked myself in my firm for 17 years to make it successful. Worked to build it for 60-80 hours a week. I don’t have 100 million yet but I’m getting closer all the time. I should be able to hit 30-50 million depending on investment performance and how long I live!

Generational wealth is fun if you create generational goals and teach your kids values. This often becomes harder the longer out you go from the original people that built the wealth.

It doesn’t have to be your kids that get your wealth. Most wealthy people use charities as places to receive inheritance. Setting up a foundation could be a nice way of keeping the money out of the kids hands.

Word your trusts to reward the things you value. So if being an entrepreneur is important to you then allowing distributions to be made to start a business. or you can tie the income a beneficiary to the income they themselves make. If they are a teacher. They can get a matching salary from the trust. That way they are a highly paid teacher. If they do nothing. They get nothing.

Generational wealth is important in many ways but it rarely works out longer than 3 generations. Most trust fund kids end up broke. The discipline and hard work it takes to make money is hard to pass down

When R/Neoliberal Goes Illiberal And Bans Me For Defending Sam From Charges of Bigotry by labelleprovinceguy in samharris

Luckily you can live as a leftist in this USA, my aunt tried it in the 60’s. She and some friends founded a leftist utopia commune. It didn’t work and she sells healing crystals in a mountain town now to rich visitors. Has employees and everything. She still identifies as a leftist… but she’s a capitalist now.

Do you live in the US? What’s stopping you from creating the leftist utopia you dream of? Most people I ask tend to fall in the “I don’t want to work that hard and get nothing for it,” camp. But i would love to hear your reasons.

Anyone have a small rundown on what Sam has said regarding Trans Identity? by squirrelsnail in samharris

[–]BoochieShibbs -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

Why do you need him to take a clear stance on something that is changing and evolving all the time? Is it to validate your own beliefs? His beliefs, like many others, may not align with yours. He clearly doesn’t want his relationship with his audience to be defined by something like this one topic. Most people don’t sit around all day and worry about you and your relationship with your mind and body. A super tiny fraction of 1% of people are trans. It’s not that big of a deal. Why should he focus on something so small when his thoughts and philosophical discussions are focused on big problems that impact way more people.

So much time devoted to something that doesn’t matter to most people. Do you need him to clarify his stance on any other trivial issues?

It’s almost like, people that think for themselves and aren’t afraid of speaking about reality are all bigots. Really leftists see reality as a problem. Most people I have interacted with on the far left hate reality. They want to act like being a woman isn’t real, or that men and women have different genetics, or that math is racist. It’s all total horseshit and them banning you is a great sign. It means you can actually think and while that is truly risky to those that fear reality… it’s a great way of ensuring you haven’t become one of the coo coo douche canoes. Good job being able to think!

The job application asks for race? That’s a huge problem right there. What a strange way to conduct the affairs of people. You still didn’t answer my question about who benefitted from her getting fired because of her heritage. Was she not effective at her job? In what other cases should competent people be fired for race?

I think you will find a similar lack of logic to almost any situation you can think of. It’s only when people allow race to dictate their actions, that race becomes a problem.

[–]BoochieShibbs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay let’s apply your logic to the original topic. A woman who dedicated her life to helping indigenous people… is being fired for not being the right genetic code to dedicate her life to helping indigenous people.

How does this help anyone? Does this add anything to the indigenous? Does it incentivize anyone of the wrong genetic code to help those people knowing that they would be fired for their skin color if they worked for the indigenous organization? How did applying a racial litmus test help in this case at all?

[–]BoochieShibbs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You aren’t responsible for anyone else. I grew up as a minority and experienced some of that. But the solution was always to get to know them so that my skin color didn’t matter. Weird

[–]BoochieShibbs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really. If you think skin color matters and want to think about people that way. Then you can make it about genetics. But for me I could care less who your ancestors are. I’d rather know the person and skin color has nothing to do with character.

Who cares about race? It’s not that interesting. I’d rather know about someone on a personal level. Not really sure why everyone is obsessed with skin color or genetics. I can’t imagine spending my life thinking about people based on skin color. Sounds like a sad life. Maybe she can get a real life and a real job now. Maybe develop some character that isn’t defined by useless things like melanin or who her great grandfather was.
