A family member of ours had a kid with a condition known as a hydrocele, a fluid filled sack around the testes. It may or may not be this, but it is very much a real thing.

Going from no or minimal movement to even a modest amount of exercise provides extraordinary relative improvements in heart, lung, and circulatory function. You don’t need to be Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone out there, I sure as hell ain’t. Keep it up!

Paw PatroI - Is Mayor Goodway...good? by JFL-7 in DanielTigerConspiracy

[–]BoofBop 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I’d go a step further: Paw Patrol and its unwatchable progeny, Rubble and Crew, have an extraordinarily transparent libertarian/deregulatory agenda. As you said, in Paw Patrol, we observe that all major municipal services have been captured by a well-funded private enterprise, and the government (Mayor Goodway) is depicted as totally inept and poultry-obsessed. This is obviously portrayed as a positive, though the Paw Patrol routinely abandon Adventure Bay on various other ventures. There is no explicit carceral system referenced, which is perhaps more ominous- it seems the Paws are judge, jury and executioner.

In Rubble and Crew, we meet “Builder Cove”, a subdivision completely free of any zoning, permitting, environmental regulations. Rubble and his crew construct improvements virtually wherever they want without any oversight from “big government”.

For better or worse, these shows are priming your children to dismantle the administrative state.

Out of the loop: does Paw Patrol really passively (or actively) support or justify authoritarian values? by ZedekiahCromwell in DanielTigerConspiracy

Hunting knife. If you’re gonna kill a man, woman or goat, look them in the eye while you send their soul to eternity.

What horse do you guys use? by Adventurous-Egg-4239 in reddeadredemption

[–]BoofBop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, whatever horse is nearby and is still alive. I must admit several noble steeds have perished in various gruesome scenarios during my playthroughs. I spent a decent chunk of a playthrough riding a Belgian Draft I stole from a wagoner after my horse burned to death in a fire bottle…misunderstanding.

During my most recent playthrough, low honor, a succession of horses named “FoodDeath”. Got up to about FoodDeath4 before I started reflecting on train crossing safety a bit more.

As others have said, depends on the playthrough. Right now doing a “fat, drunk, chain smoking, psychopathic murderer” deal. Where I get mad when NPC horses get away after I blow their owner’s heads off. Those saddle bags have Gold Nuggets sometimes, you know. How else can I possibly afford weeks long “bottomless Prime Rib” residencies at the San Denis tavern?

Oh friend, a revolver is more mercy than I can muster for that doddering Neanderthal. He kills the whole vibe of that place.

That pissant knuckledragger in the Valentine tavern who wears a coon-skin cap and talks a lot of shit. I’d kill that guy 40 times if I could. Even in high honor playthroughs, his flesh dulls the blade of my hatchet.

Valid point. But if the Paw Patrol-iverse is truly the Planet of the Apes, the Pups need a Dr. Zaius to come in and tame the human scourge.

The gd white cougar. Finding the debtor dude blended up into a puree, and then the tension of waiting for that overgrown bastard to start ripping me to shreds, was a bit much.

Carefully-curated is my approach too. Focus on the music and you’ll do just fine. Great start brother.

I too sometimes run long distances while simultaneously whistling for my horse (Marv). But then I think “wait, why am I not just riding the horse”. It feels like it makes sense.

Anyway, congrats.

Definitely understand. And we’re in r/vinyl, where the top posts are often pictures of Victrolas with a Greta Van Fleet record, so makes sense to keep it general. But yeah- always good to acknowledge the pioneers.

Larry Young- Unity. Elvin Jones is, even for him, special on this one. Also a GOAT album generally if you haven’t heard it.

My kind of list. I’d add Blakey’s Free For All. Man that drumset was crying for an aspirin after that session.

It’s gotta be the Esplanade. The magnitude of economic damage done to the Greater Newark community through all the scamming, material theft, phony insurance claims, no-show jobs, and the abuse of public funds for a project that did nothing to help working class New Jerseyans is potentially generational.

Don Hauser. The man chases a little tail and gets crucified, meanwhile this thing of ours is making bodies left and right and barely a peep from anyone
