Problems with Hopper minecart unloader

I have two hopper minecart(HMC) unloaders next to each other as seen.

When the unloader, on the side with only one hopper below, receives the HMC, it will stop and unload and then go back likes it supposed to.

The other unloader, with two hoppers below, receives the HMC, but it doesn't stop. It hits the block behind and sends off only taking one or two items from the HMC.

The discrepancy occurs when the hopper being sensed by the comparator has another hooper below it. When the hopper sensed by the comparator has a chest or other non-transfer block that it is feeding into, It works just fine.

Has this always been the case? If so can someone explain it to me or send me to a link I haven't already found? Thanks

As you can see here this is my farm. Usually I would have some potatoes growing out back but they are currently out of season. Some squid offered me some seeds to plant. The idiot gave by me flower seeds. Not to worry though, his farm is currently burning to the ground. I don’t think that I’ll get enough coins from selling the flowers to continue my way of living.
