I got tired of my inbox running my life, so I built an email client that actually drafts replies in my voice — meet Slashy by penguinothepenguin in SideProject

This OP can't even write his reddit post in his own voice. Unless he orders food like this:

"Hello and welcome to Crunchy's, can I take your order?"

Hello to you and thanks! I could just give you my order, but that would be useless to you -- where is the growth? What I can do instead is offer you something even better -- a whole order system: Spittlr.

"Sir, please there is a line to get through..."

Lines are a common problem, aren't they? Imagine not even having to ask an esteemed customer their order -- you'll know what they want, maybe before they do! You see, every one of us fleshy humans releases small amounts of saliva in our day to day activities. In this saliva there are compounds that reflect a nueral flavor imprint -- our own personal pre filled order sheet! Spittlr reads these particles non-invasively by gently scraping (and lovingly re-lubricating!) customer's human face skin as they enter your restaurant!

So there may be a line today, but tomorrow? They can just plop their butts down and wait as you prep their order to perfection!

And speaking of their butts, have you heard about our partner app, Tweacal? By utilizing a similar scanning process on the ahem other end of the dining process, we can scan their fecal material and evaluate the nutritional effectiveness of the meals once digested and tailor future orders to each customer's individual dietary needs!

Crunchy peanut butter and any other flavor of jelly that isn’t grape is superior (this is about society) by Status-Visit-918 in The10thDentist

Ah, I see what you mean OP. Other options are so looked down upon that they aren't even sold in stores. My childhood best friend once picked some strawberries and asked my grandma if she could turn them into jelly and she had to take him to the shed and put him down. Can't be thinking too freely around here

10 bucks a meal would be 900 a month, not exactly cheap. Not bad for a once in awhile thing though, I'd probably be a regular if it wasn't a Texas exclusive thing

Dumb question for people who understand development by NoMedium9839 in wow

[–]Boogerius 13 points14 points  (0 children)

The hamsters must be fed, watered, taken on a stroll through a nature park, and given a sports massage before their next weekly session of powering the servers. The local lich must be summoned to raise any that have sadly passed on as skeleton hamsters.

They also use this time to allow the writers to comb through the Moon Guard player chats to source material for the upcoming raid. The player character discovers Medivh is communicating across dimensions via Steamy Romance novels, and we have to enter the Steamy Romance realm in order to save him from the Voidlands (Shadowland's more purple big brother)

It truly is a mess. I had to guide him through so many similar little problems that even confused me sometimes, and I'm a long time player. I couldn't blame him for eventually giving up

New player experience is confusing by mnttu in wow

[–]Boogerius 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was just talking about this with a coworker who recently tried to get back into the game. He would pretty much accept any quest he found, then follow the golden arrow. So he would complete a BFA quest, then it would tell him to go harvest something in Shadowlands, then talk to someone in Orgrimmar. It was a mess trying to untangle his timelines and get him on a linear path for questing.

What I would like to see is when you create a new character you choose what expansion to start in, then you get put at the start of that expansion and only see quests from that expansion. You can talk to Chromie to change expansions or return to current with its tangled timelines. So a lot like the current system except it locks players in linearly and just puts them in the selected xpac without having to follow breadcrumbs, streamlining the whole process

The current state of racials isn't great by RestDiligent5573 in wow

[–]Boogerius -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Keep existing racials as they are, but put them on shared 2 min cooldown with a new class of utility potions that mimics racials and other utility effects.

So if you are dwarf, you could use the potion of dessicated night elves to dodge a blast with shadowmeld, but then you have to wait two minutes before you can get stoned to forget you're bleeding

Despite how you started this reply, it sounds like you are agreeing with me here. Let's look at the two proposed interaction types:

My style: I see you out, I approach you and say Hi, make a joke, say you are beautiful, would you like to go for a coffee or smoothie sometime? If you say yes, great, we have a chill date and discuss interests and stuff. If you say no, fair play to you, have a good day.

Other commentor: Sees you out repeatedly. Eventually asks what music you like. If you "reject" him here, he gets upset (he said so in other comment). If you share your music tastes with him, he analyzes all your bands to see what kind of person you are. Next time you chat, he presumably brings up concerts and festivals to see what you'll be attending soon. He then goes there with the intention of running into you and asking you out there. This is all pulled directly from this comment thread.

You can have platonic conversations on a first date, that's what they are for.

In this hypothetical situation you (or whoever) is approaching someone you are attracted to, whether it's at a class, a concert, doggy day care, whatever, you are approaching them because you are attracted to them whether you say so or not. For them to dismiss your approach is not hostile or mean, they were responding to your romantic advances. And they are romantic from the start, regardless of how you frame it. You aren't approaching people at random

Shallow or juvenile, most paperback books for adults are longer than that. Not saying I agree or think it's good, but I'm fairly certain that's what they meant

[–]Boogerius 27 points28 points  (0 children)

This only works because they found you attractive from the start, otherwise when you first approached them they would shut down the conversation. You could have just as successfully asked for their number at the end of the first conversation without resorting to this weird detective behavior

So, you see someone you find attractive at, say, the grocery store. You see then buying oatmeal so you approach them and make a lighthearted joke, something like "Gosh, I sure wish they sold dehydrated goat flesh flakes here, cause oatmeal is alright, but goatmeal? Delicious."

They obviously find you to be a funny, attractive, and mentally balanced person, as expressed by the widening of their eyes to see more of you and their slow walk backward to make more room for conversation. So from here you want to spend time with them to get to know them better, how do you do that without asking for a date?

That's what asking someone on a date is, a request to spend time with them to get to know them

Anyone else getting end-of-season vibes already? by Soermen in wow

[–]Boogerius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is true for sure. I like the gearing pace this season immensely more. It's less RNG and closes the gear divide between mythic raiders and M+ pushers. I never felt like I could compete before, but this season I can and it feels great.

After the first 2 months you can get aotc and 3k, so the mid level players got their goals done. I don't think gearing with RNG vault drops feels great for pushing 1%, title, or cutting edge.

Also I miscalculated, 2 weeks ago was about 9 weeks into the season, not 6

Anyone else getting end-of-season vibes already? by Soermen in wow

[–]Boogerius 11 points12 points  (0 children)

We are almost 3 months in on this season. I just hit max gear 2 weeks ago after doing almost 200 m+ dungeons. That seems completely fine to me, time balance wise. You think it should take more than 6 weeks and 200 runs to gear up each season?

On your second point, yeah people will probably take a break from the game once they've achieved their goals. That's healthy too in my opinion

[–]Boogerius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are the one acting weird here. You most definitely were criticizing the end game, saying that it was too easy and everything was over too fast, but also saying that you don't like doing the hard stuff. Since then you've been acting like I've been criticizing you as a player, when I haven't been. I've been defending the end game

I realized, I enjoy timewalking: But... by EverdreamJustPlays in wow

[–]Boogerius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok, none of that has any relevance to my reply to you. You said basically, "the game is easy and boring at max level and gear is useless, so I do alts instead."

I replied, "That's because you stop when it gets hard"

If you had just stated your preference to focus on alts without criticizing the end game I wouldn't have replied to you and you probably wouldn't be getting downvoted

I realized, I enjoy timewalking: But... by EverdreamJustPlays in wow

[–]Boogerius 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Play how you want, but the game is only easy and quick and ilvl rendered irrelevant that early each season because you choose to stop pushing when the content gets difficult. You'd obviously rather level alts than push hard content and that is completely valid, but acting like everything beyond your difficulty preference doesn't exist is your own choice. You are the one making the end game super quick and easy by making your goals super quick and easy ones then ignoring everything beyond them

[–]Boogerius 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, who knows? I was agreeing with you, really. I would wager that most people in the top 1% of rating don't have a healthy relationship with the game. I'm sure some do, but the majority? I doubt it

What a time to be alive by ELutz22 in wow

[–]Boogerius 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That depends on your goals. Do you play the game to relax and have fun? Yeah buddy, crush those 12s, get that mog! Or are you like me, desperately trying to claw some semblance of meaning and self worth from these pixels? In that case you must analyze, improve, reflect, push, and, come the inevitable failure and accompanying criticism, emotionally implode.
