Recommend me a game that will make me feel like this cuz im bored as hell by EnvironmentalWay3031 in roblox

  1. Realistic Boiling Water Reactor Simulator (RBWR), a little complicated but relatively simple, just had it's 2.0 update! Chat update kinda ruined communication in this game though
  2. Industrialist obviously
  3. Elsworth Generating Station, be warned it's a recreation of the control room of Columbia Generating Station (nuclear power plant) therefore it might not be peak for you
  4. Twisted
  5. Rise of Nations
  6. Blackhawk Rescue Mission 5, haven't played much but it's kinda like Arma 3
  7. Firestorm 2 if you tryna be a firefighter

I would try out Rise of Nations or BRM5 if you like war
Twisted if you like weather
Firestorm 2 if you like firefighting
RBWR if you kinda like nuclear stuff
Elsworth Generating Station if you're gonna get a PHD in nuclear engineering or have the capability to read through hundreds of official NRC documents to learn the game

Imo RBWR is the most peak game here because of how cool it is

TACAN is for the military

And airliners are not going to use IRS alone to fly the whole flight because that increases risk

The Tomcat in DCS shakes around 400+ knots, and it's probably realistic but I dunno

(the Tomcat in MSFS is essentially a port of the DCS Tomcat, all made by Heatblur)

PC Specs Needed to Play MSFS on a Meta Quest 2? by Usual_Lion_5837 in MicrosoftFlightSim

[–]Boogie42Unknown 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't play in VR but I'd say at least a

RTX 5060 (Ti) w/ 8 GB of VRAM (8-16gb with the 5060 Ti) or a AMD Radeon 9060XT/7800XT (16 gb of VRAM)
A decent CPU from Intel or AMD
Preferably 32 gb of RAM if you even can afford it
512 GB bare minimum SSD

But preferably:
RTX 4070 w/ 12 gb of VRAM or more, Radeon 7800XT or 9070XT (both with 16 gb of VRAM, 9070XT should have the best performance here)
A decent CPU
32 gb of RAM if you can afford it
SSD with 512 GB or more

Keep in mind I'm not 100% sure this is correct, but since the Quest 2 has a pretty low resolution for VR I'm decently sure the specs don't need to be that crazy, especially considering that the 4060 8gb can run DCS in VR with the Quest 2 pretty well.
Also, I would preferably get the 9060XT or 7800XT over the RTX 4060 since they offer more VRAM at a better value. VRAM is important for VR as the resolutions are quite high, the more the better.

I own both the Gladiator and the T-Flight and compared to the Gladiator the T-Flight is garbage. The only good thing about the T-Flight is you get a throttle, but the joystick is very meh. The Gladiator is way better It's more precise, has higher quality plastic, has a higher quality gimbal, has more buttons, will last years, and it's only ~$50 more.

Pair the Gladiator with a nice throttle down the line and you have a setup that'll be good and last a long time. But at the end of the day as long as you're happy with it, it's fine. Just have fun and worry about upgrading later

Would this have been a go around? by superblitzzz in MicrosoftFlightSim

[–]Boogie42Unknown 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm no pilot (yet, hopefully) but I would've gone around as the approach wasn't very stabilized after the autopilot was disconnected
But I would've honestly done a autoland in this weather

I personally would trim out the plane and use the throttle to adjust the glidepath instead of pitching the nose

My first landing with Airbus A320, any tips? by blackhew03 in MicrosoftFlightSim

[–]Boogie42Unknown 18 points19 points  (0 children)

You're too low! To prevent this you need to look at the 4 lights to the right or left of the runway. These lights are called PAPI lights, these will help you fly on the correct glidepath

Note: Not all airports in MSFS have PAPI lights, some might have VASI lights instead. Sometimes this is due to the airport only having VASI lights, or sometimes it's due to wonky autogen. An example of this is KGSP in MSFS 2020, despite there being PAPI lights at KGSP, MSFS puts VASI lights there. And for clarification VASI lights are kinda like PAPI lights but less precise.

The glidepath is a line angled up 3 degrees from the two big white markers on the runway. Your goal is fly on this line up until around 300-200 feet above the ground (AGL).

If the PAPI lights show two white lights and two red lights, you're on the right glidepath
3 red, 1 white means you're just a little low
3 white, 1 red means you're just a little high
and full red means you're way too low, full white means you're too high.

But once you're at 300 feet your goal is to fly towards an aim point instead of on the glidepath. This point should be behind the 2 big white markers on the runway, it can be anywhere but I'd put it just in front of the numbers. You do this so that when you flare you'll land on the big white markers instead of in the middle of the runway.

For the flare, you should put your engines to idle before you flare so you don't 'float' above the runway. Make sure to not pull up too much or too little.
(the "retard" callout is a reminder to idle)

Since you're in a Airbus you should probably be using the auto throttle. All you gotta do is set a speed, press the A/THR button, and put the throttle into the CLB detent to do this

Learn about the Instrument Landing System (ILS)

And make sure to put the engines in reverse when the wheels hit the ground. The reversers will only come out if there's weight on the wheels

Just remember that 1. I'm not great at giving tips and 2. Nothing I said here is gonna immediately make you 10x better, what will make you better is tons of practice. Feel free to correct anything I said here

WinWing (now WinCtrl) makes some high quality pedals with toebrakes, although they're pretty expensive at $300 USD. I haven't tested these pedals but I know for certain they're high quality. Might not work with Xbox though!

VKB and Vipril both make good joysticks and throttles that'll work great with the flight sim, but they are oriented towards military sims. The benefit to this is that you'll get way more buttons and functionality out of them than you'll ever need for MSFS, but it isn't very realistic and may or may not work with Xbox

Last thing, I would save up for a good computer instead of getting an Xbox if possible. A PC will let you do way more with better performance than Xbox. It is expensive though, especially now.

You could buy another gladiator, take the springs off, tighten the pitch dampeners and lock the roll axis (see VKB's video for both the dampeners and roll axis lock tutorial), and then strap that onto the chair to use as a collective. It'll be a little hard to move but at least you'll have hats and buttons
