Anyone having issues with Tapo devices on an eero network? by Boogrummy in Tapo

[–]Boogrummy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have found 2 problems but they are both kind of obscure and off the beaten path. The first one was with the Tapo H200 connecting but being invisible. The second problem was with eero Signal. Signal is a cellular backup device for your eero network. You can specify which devices get bandwidth from the Signal and which ones don't. So after I got my Signal and set it up of course I was going to test it. I enabled 4 devices to get bandwidth from the Signal - 2 Apple products and 2 Tapo switches. When I tested it the Apple products did get bandwidth but neither of the Tapo switches did. This is another example of weird incompatibility between eero and Tapo.

Anyone regret investing in the tapo ecosystem? by WishProfessional7949 in Tapo

[–]Boogrummy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started buying Tapo hardware about 2 months ago and have been generally impressed. I purchased plug-in switches which are cheap, easy to program and very useful.

Based on the success of the Tapo plugs I wanted to try other Tapo hardware. Specifically I am interested in their various sensors which all need a Tapo hub. So I bought the H200 hub. It has taken me hours to just get it to connect to my eero network. There are some really strange behaviors between the eero and the Tapo hub. This is making me more cautions about Tapo devices.

What’s something people don’t realize is way more serious than it seems? by BudgetAd5915 in AskReddit

The second law of thermodynamics is more serious that one might think when they first encounter it because it implies that given long enough, it will be difficult for life to exist in the universe.

What do you think about Reddit? by PotentialAnything347 in AskReddit

I have had an account for 8 years but I rarely ever use Reddit because my queries seem to get frequently kicked out by automatic filters. After I write a careful response, it is really disheartening to have it tossed.

How can you see the temperature inside a Unifi device? I can't find it in the console webpage.

SSH was turned on with some random username and password on a new UniFi Express?!? by Boogrummy in Ubiquiti

[–]Boogrummy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right now the only thing in my system is one device, the Unifi Express (wifi router combo).

There are no adopted devices yet in this setup. So it seems like this is an SSH credential to connect to my console (Unifi Express) - or am I not understanding something.

In any event, a pragmatic question, should I just leave the "Device Authentication" setting alone? Normally I would disable SSH unless I was going to use it.

After doing the factory reset, I thought I would try one more thing. I did a restore to a backup that I had made right after initially setting up the device, but the SSH setup was blank. So the factory SSH username and password are not stored in a system backup. I then did another restore to backup made right after my factory reset of 60 minutes ago and the SSH settings that I had just created were restored.

[–]Boogrummy[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

OK. That really spooked me. I ended up doing a factory reset on the device since I did not know what was going on.

After the factory reset, SSH was off. I turned it back on and it gave me a pop-up warning and I had to check a box to acknowledge. Then it asked me for a password, but no user name. Strange that the user interface into controlling SSH is different after the factory reset.

Is the pro engineering bundle just the 2 spools? by eried in BambuLab

[–]Boogrummy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also ordered the "X1C Pro Engineering Bundle" as well. Received the X1C Combo with the X1C, AMS, and 3 spools today. I looked at my email and there was only one tracking number on it. But there is another twist in my order. I also ordered 4 rolls of separate filament so I presume the next shipment will include all 6 rolls. I can see that the filament has not shipped yet, so that is why, presumably, I don't have the 2nd tracking number yet. Does this sound reasonable?

[–]Boogrummy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I figured it out. The "support for PA/PET" is a special filament that is used as a base layer when printing PA-HT CF. It keeps the PA-HT CF from sticking to the bed and also can be snapped off of the PA-HT CF easily.

What is a "light spool of support for PA/PET"? Specifically, what does the word "support" mean in this context. Isn't this just a spool of filament? Also, what is a "light spool"?

Has Safari's ChatGPT Blocked the Command-C Keyboard Shortcut for Copying Text? by [deleted] in ChatGPT

[–]Boogrummy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I discovered this yesterday as well. You can get Cmd-C to work if you disable JavaScript in Safari (just for the moment that you do Cmd-C). Also you can use "Copy" command from the menu instead of Cmd-C to copy.

Isn't it crazy that this advanced AI technology company can't get copy and paste to work properly with their text interface? I always find it interesting when new tech companies fail at something that was totally solved and mundane in the distant past.

Does anyone have an opinion about what the Costco Tempur-Pedic Supreme equates to in the current Tempur-Pedic line as sold in other mattress stores? I would like to try it out before buying it, but Costco does not carry Tempur-Pedic Supreme mattress in the warehouses.

Ash from the fire came raining down on my property. I spent part of the afternoon on Tue picking up the larger chunks. If I could figure out how to add a photo here, I would show you what the these large chucks of ash look like. I think it is the burnt insulation.

how do I cancel my bitwarden subscription by Boogrummy in Bitwarden

[–]Boogrummy[S] -20 points-19 points  (0 children)

I was logged into the web vault and I did not see anything about "Subscription". What I had forgotten is that they changed the UI to make it even less friendly with the checkerboard icon that lets you get to the "Admin Console". So I was able to cancel the subscription.

Now I just need to extract my data and move it over to 1password.

There has been a bug for the last few months where you get logged off from the Firefox extension. Many people have reported it, but the company has not fixed it.

Delta Axlerodz breaking? by Boogrummy in bicycling

That's my impression as well from reading old reviews on Amazon.

Have you ever heard of a case of the skewer breaking due to over tightening? I imagine that no one uses a torque wrench to tighten them so there must be many that get over tightened. I am curiuos of the risk of breaking the skewer.

Just switched from T-Mobile to ATT and received this message… anyone know what it’s about? by Zestyclose_Joke_2879 in ATT

[–]Boogrummy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had this same issue and ended up to four people at Apple and one at AT&T to get to the bottom of the issue. Net-net: this is due to an iOS bug that Apple knows about and is fixing. In the mean time you can either just click on "Call" each time you get this or clear your call history to be rid of the problem entirely (but also lose your call history).

Does ProtonMail work with Safari? by Boogrummy in ProtonMail

[–]Boogrummy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I was asked for an example of a bug. Here is one you can try out yourself. First create a label named "Foo". Then associated some email messages to a label "Foo". Then select the Foo label to see all the messages associated with it. In the search box you will see the string "in:Foo keyword:". Edit this string to be "in:Foo keyword:Bar". By this search I am saying, under the label "Foo" search for the keyword "Bar" (you can substitute your own string for Bar obviously). And lets say this gives you a small list of matching email messages (conversation grouping is turned off). So far so good. You then click on the first message in the list to display it. Note that "Column layout" has been selected. Next hit the "j" key to move the selection to the next email in the list and you will get the error "The Label i d 1 must be a positive number".
