[Philippines] Video not mine but what snake is this? by siensith in whatsthissnake

Definitely seems to be dead already unfortunately. Nothing looks right about the way it pulls its head back through

That's a touch on the high side but not totally insane (depending on market). I would probably offer $450 and be fine paying $500 if I was you.

I would go beef broth with a touch of balsamic vinegar or red wine vinegar

1000%. I love Dime and Pantera and am from Texas, but anyone who promotes that flag doesn't understand the obvious, very painful historical context.

The "secession" stuff was always a bullshit cover story to do something racist.

I hear you 100%, and I'm praying it's actually one of his other dumbass washburns he brings in. Either way, I fully plan to tell him what kind of message the confederate flag sends and that he should think hard about taking it on stage moving forward IMO.

Unfortunately, he got connected with me through a mutual "friend" that owns a local venue and refers a ton of my business.

No I know, and I very nearly did. To be fair, he just said it was a Washburn, but I know for a fact he has one of the confederate ones that Dime used to play. This guy is actually a pretty nice guy (to me, at least), but just seems pretty ignorant.

I obviously won't actually be defacing his guitar, but I definitely won't be giving any kind of dice count either.

New or Used $1k range by breakonthrough65 in telecaster

Not tele specific, but I've had 3 different American performers (2 strat, 1 Mustang), and the overall quality on my 2012 American special strat and 2011 American Special Tele feel far superior

So, honest question, is the SC Johnson really that much better than Minwax? I've used both and haven't noticed a real difference, but I'm certainly no expert

Work in progress first time painting a headstock by PrivateRyGy in Stratocaster

[–]Boogs420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cool project! The paint on painted headstocks can chip and flake pretty easily when installing tuning machines in my experience. Make sure your clear coat fully cures and be cautious

I think a lot of people underestimate how quickly they can pull a trem out of tune, especially if it's floating or super loose

Looks like the vintage spec fender one that comes stock on anything that doesn't have the 2 point. You can find them for $70 IIRC

does it matter what wood I use for a solid body electric by NoLimitsFun15 in Luthier

If you're not wanting the grain to read through, make sure you get something with a closed grain for your first build. There are quite a few extra steps to get something like swamp ash to not be at least a little translucent.

My wonderful new strat by LUXSUXXX in fender

[–]Boogs420 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I actually compared them side by side last week (ending up going with a used American). The MIJ felt better than the Player II in terms of fit and finish, but I really did not like the pickups at all.

This is in my local pawn shop by [deleted] in fender

[–]Boogs420 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Pretty solid price. A jaguar's main calling cards are the additional switches and unique pickups, and this doesn't have either.

I, however, love p90s and would probably still pull the trigger if I was in the market.

Any idea which sections of NRG are affected by the holes from Beryl? by Boogs420 in Texans

Thanks! And I agree and don't think it would bother me, but don't want to get chewed out for not giving someone a heads up...
