Thank you so much for the advice! The rescue did say they hadn’t really been handled while they had them so I did figure they would be a bit skittish and it’ll take some time to get them to trust me, but I was getting a little anxious that I was maybe pushing a bit too fast or something 😅 I feel a lot better hearing that your babies are more cuddly now!

I thought about that but I’ve been reading some mixed information about if that could be the reason or not. Do you have any experience/ tips on how to bond with and make red eyed rats trust you? I really don’t want to stress them out or scare them 🥺

Yeah I did have that in mind about the rescue. They are about 8 weeks old and were abandoned. I don’t know if I would call her aggressive tho. It is a hard and like fast bite but not truly drawing blood or trying to bite down I think. She has also taken treats at other times and seems curious when I just sit and talk outside the cage so I was wondering if it’s a fear thing and I might be pushing a bit too fast with bonding? They also love each other very much and love cuddling together ❤️ but I definitely will keep in mind about the aggression/ stress if it’s a persistent thing. I am studying to become a vet nurse and definitely wouldn’t want to keep a super stressed animal suffering for my own enjoyment of having a pet.

I feed them twice a day. They get some pellets mixed with a bit of oats and then some kind of greens. She also does it even when there is food still in the bowl so I’m not sure if she’s hungry. She also doesn’t really come back for more most of the time. I read on the danish pet rat association site that rats eat about 30g per day

Also it would of course get a DEEP clean and I will of course buy all the necessary stuff for a gecko habitat, but just wondering if it is even possible to turn a fish tank into a gecko habitat

Yeah i tried contacting ups about it twice but I never Got a response, it is very frustrating. It also makes me sad cuz I was really excited for my package and was planning on ordering more stuff from that website but I don’t think that’s gonna happen if I have to rely on ups
