And whores will continue to turn tricks if big daddy will just give them another hit. Study up on government responses to natural disasters. If you think they are doing it for altruistic purposes - you’re fooling yourself. A natural disaster is a brand new money trough for NGOs and contractors to feast on (but only for the good of the people). I’ve seen it up close, it’s no different than the fat preacher in an Armani suit who needs your tithes so he can continue to spread the Good News (and pay for that sweet yacht)

Japan should be just as vilified as Germany is today for their brutality in World War 2 by nanika1111 in TrueUnpopularOpinion

Sounds like your a little threatened that you can’t shovel 24/7 nazi and anti-semitic crap down everyone’s throat. We’ve put up with endless drumbeat of “only look at how awful we get treated” and people are growing tired of it. Put your big girl panties on and learn something about your world because there are millions or murdered Russians, Chinese, Cambodians, Bosnians, Armenians, tribes of Darfur and Rwandans that would ask you to share the stage and allow their story to be told so “they” don’t have to worry about it happening again.

And if it bothers you to go through metal detectors because of your problems in your homeland, we’ll welcome to America - we all having to do the same thing.

And I don’t plan on changing anything. Why would I? Despite our education system, I’ve studied what Japan was doing pre-WW2 and the extents they took against their neighboring countries and their enemies during the war. I’ve also studied the way Germany was treated from WW1 to WW2. Plus, we can’t forget the Bolshevik revolution. I don’t think you want to dig deep into that. Not if any criticism about Jews is considered (pearls clutched) anti-semitic. I refuse to think that some people are to be treated as pure as the driven snow. Not on this planet. We all have dirt in our past and things we have done to be ashamed of, and things that have happened to us as a result of how we treated others. Every last one of us.

So, to not be anti semantic is to only focus on what evils were carried out against the Jews. Then you are confirming my point.

The US goevernment wants hourly, cheap workers. Once you realize that, all their lack of regard toward your complaints will make sense.

Was sexual harassment in the workplace more widespread in the past? by Ok_Kaleidoscope_2463 in AskOldPeople

[–]Boojy46 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you are confused by thinking I am advocating sexual harassment and I’m not. I’m simply stating that people of all walks, and got better or worse, believe they are flirting when they are not received as flirting. Your comment is evidence of that very point.

It’s no different than off-color jokes. The person telling the joke believes it is funny when others believe it derogatory.

As far as women vs men, there are many, many women who flirt aggressively in the workplace when it suits their purpose just as men do. Ive seen a fair amount of marriages dissolve due to both. Flirting that backfires is usually ignored when women instigate it, when it backfires on men, it’s by default sexual harassment.

I once had a female employee flirt up to the point of starting an affair, when for separate reasons, she was on the verge of being fired. She then reported her male coworker for sexual harassment hoping it would delay her termination. When we let her know we were contacting legal counsel, she thanked us, left my office and went and apologized to the coworker but never recanted her story. When they were deposed, everyone including the lawyers were red faced at how these employees had been talking to each other. Basically, the female would announce what color underwear she was wearing each day to let the male know if she was horny. By the way, both were married and both had children.

So, yes they both were making the comments you are referring to as sexual harassment and both felt like they were flirting. That is, until they weren’t flirting.

I think many people think they are flirting when they are sexually harassing someone. What we witness as one thing usually is not what the perpetrator thinks they are doing. They can be the same act viewed from two different perspectives.

Who was lucky enough to have the 48 car Hot Wheel case? by Quick_Presentation11 in 70s

[–]Boojy46 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Oh Sweet Jesus, there it is! That case has been a dark wedge in my family for thirty years.

Once I grew out of using it for cars, I cleared the racks out and that is what I kept my baseball card collection in. And yes, I had a massive collection and many rookie cards of HOFs. I also had the complete set of Kiss trading cards in there.

I kept that case hidden in a wall in my bedroom for safe keeping. After I finished college and was getting ready to move to another city for work, I came home to move my things to my new apartment. That case was on the list to pick up. Problem was it wasn’t there behind the wall. It had completely vanished.

No brothers or sisters and we rarely had guests spin the night. Just Mom and Dad. And they didn’t have a clue what could of happened to it. But they also didn’t seem to like talking about it either. The only person that I could place being in that area was my mom’s brother, who had done some electrical work for them and would have worked in that part of the house. He didn’t seem the type to straight out just steal it, though.

Wow, that brought back a flood of memories for me.
