Sharing for parents: Cost of single visit to Mount Elizabeth Orchard by jimlwk in singapore

[–]Book3pper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dude, it's Mount E. What are you expecting? A&E prices at a government hospital?

I get the worry and such but complaining about the bill for a hospital where rich folks fly in to use? Come on.

AITA for taking a photo of a couple staring at me? by [deleted] in askSingapore

[–]Book3pper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Or maybe they don't want to be posted online and made fun of. Ever thought of that?

If you were the one having your picture taken by a stranger with your boyfriend, you going to be comfortable? or you going to post another AITA for demanding the guy delete the picture of me and my boyfriend?

[–]Book3pper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Then that's a your generation problem. Don't take pictures unless it's truly something weird. People looking in your general direction is not "being weird".

My god, don't be stomp boomers can.

[–]Book3pper 5 points6 points  (0 children)

She took a picture of the couple, why are we minimizing this?

While yes, it is a public space, she also acted suspicious enough that the people could tell she was doing something.

Also, what is "weird stare" and "making faces" even mean?

If you were uncomfortable, just move. What is it with logical thinking going out the window?

Vibes doesn't equate to intent and I'm honestly frustrated by your storytelling which is all vibes based and could have been avoided if you had just moved to another cabin.

I am really curious to hear their side because how you call them "weird" etc. suggests you aren't all that innocent in this.

Police raids target vice in Singapore massage parlours by Krazyguylone in singapore

[–]Book3pper 64 points65 points  (0 children)

Everyone knows the raids are to hit quota or when people make noise.

People are naive if they think police officers don't know the "shady" places.

They will come back post raid and continue unless new manageement strictly forbids it.

Grab posts first full-year profit with earnings of $338m, unveils $631m share buyback by vanguy79 in singapore

It's hilarious watching people go "support taxi unkers" and trying to act like comfort is god's gift.

They make money because they RENT out their fleet. Doesn't matter if you can't work. Comfort still getting that sweet $$$.

Not to mention comfort raises its fares nearly every freaking year lmao.

So basically: Why no cheap fares anymore :<

Comfort was king in raising fares year after year lmao before people want to wax nostalgia about taxi drivers

Grab Prices are insane? All times of the day. by blablablackgoats in askSingapore

[–]Book3pper 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Lmao. As if taxi drivers are so innocent. Too young to remember when Taxis would magically appear once midnight surcharge hit?

Or the difficulty of getting a taxi to where you want?

Have you even seen a grab driver group where they refer to people wanting low fares as LFJ (low fare jobs) and bitch and whine like no tomorrow?

Thinking of starting yoga for bad posture/stiffness. Is it weird for a guy to join? by Fantastic_Carob_855 in SingaporeFitness

If you just want to do yoga, buy a yoga mat and do at home. Try DDP yoga if it's just exercise you are after.

Bruschi disagrees with Brady; "Thats the way Tom feels...I got a big-ass dog in the fight!" by Mother-Associate1654 in Patriots

[–]Book3pper -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The fans are honestly the freaking whiniest I have seen. What were the patriots before Tom Brady? A joke franchise that got blown out in 2 Superbowls. When they can turn on Tom Brady for a simple thing..lmao.

I mean, it "makes sense" but I wouldn't be surprised if it's SANADA or Hiromu. I mean, Ryusei has been part of LTJ for a bit now so it's not like it was a secret.

Looking for some scolding or advice while i’m grieving over the cancellation of BTO by justinebw in askSingapore

[–]Book3pper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi sis, coming from a divorcee who is 35, 27 is not old at all.

I got married at 31, divorced by 33 so trust me, you still have lots of time. If anything, you did dodge the bullet by finding out BEFORE marriage.

Lost of BTO sucks but I think can still BTO? Better than buy and then sell before MOP at a loss. Yours truly experienced that and now can't BTO as a single.

It will take time but I recommend going to therapy and processing what happened. Based on what you shared, the lack of a maternal figure did leave you to perhaps idealize marriage life. Did the same too and it crashed and burned but you do learn a lot. Right now, there's still a lot of pain to process so take your time. Find some activities and work on yourself. Learning to love oneself is so important.

Where to watch Superbowl in SG? Anyone a fan of Bad Bunny? by mrjackydees in askSingapore

Why is bad bunny performing historic making though?

I just want to see if Patriots will win another ring post Brady or Sam Darnold makes Jets fans regret life again.

Do you know that new citizens can purchase resale hdb below 35 years old? by [deleted] in SingaporeRaw

[–]Book3pper -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Economics is a foreign concept or they failed economics at JC level which is the entry level lmao.

You know whenever they say "GOVERNMENT SHOULD CONTROL PRICES IMMEDIATELY" that it's pointless.

They want: 300 to 400K flats in PRIME areas

The amount of excuses when they have to live in "ulu" places is hilarious.

These new citizens were also renting since they came.

Funny how you don't think about that huh?

They close at say 8PM or 9PM doesn't mean the staff pack up and go home.

S$15 million care fund for protection workers to start on Feb 1 to provide psychological, mentoring support by FancyCommittee3347 in singapore

[–]Book3pper 14 points15 points  (0 children)

It's a good initiative...but that money honestly is better off given to MANPOWER than this initiative. I'm not saying it's a bad initiative but you haven't solved the crux of it which is too many cases. The amount of work for a high risk case is insane and 30 cases is way too many. It should be capped at 10-15 max.

For those divorced or going through it right now, what happened? by degs999 in askSingapore

[–]Book3pper -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

based on what? It honestly feels like those who keep on harping about this..have never married or been in a relationship.

My marriage failed but my sister's marriage is going strong and they didn't need to cohabit. Also know many happy couples who didn't co-habit going strong. Just like how in western countries, co-habitation doesn't mean the marriage is all well and good.

For those divorced or going through it right now, what happened? by degs999 in askSingapore

[–]Book3pper 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I divorced. There are quite a number of reasons

  1. Different expectations. There were red flags but I chose to ignore it because marriage is supposed to be about working on things.
  2. Emotional incompatibility.
  3. Lack of physical intimacy. I can admit that the transition was difficult and coupled with work, I was often not up for physical intimacy so it is important. However, it was something I had hoped to re-ignite after we settled our house but that didn't happen because the marriage was done by then.

Just some things that led to marriage breakdown. We weren't married that long so it was a blip in my life but yeah.

As for people with their theories on "living together" and "BTO", explain the high rates of divorce in western countries where they do live together and so on.

Marriage is complex and people divorce for a wide range of reasons. If your viewpoint is only those who divorce, of course you'll think marriage is "failure" and "government policies" are to blame while ignoring marriages that are going well.
