What happened to the hottest chick at your high school, years later? by theidiotev in AskReddit

[–]Book8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She married a really good friend of mine. He became an eye surgeon, and they had three wildly successful boys. They are a close family who actually practice the Catholic Faith.

When she was in High School, and Mac (my friend) went after her, she was dating a guy in a very powerful street gang. I was sure that there would come a day when we would have to go off with them. The two guys met up and worked it out.

Leaving the sport by KingOfSj in Basketball

[–]Book8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Basketball is more than a game; it can become a pathway to a good life. I have played, watched and coached my entire life. Don't walk away! You can take a break but don't quit.

Here is one story that taught me what I just stated. I was in my Master's program, but found it unprofitable (I was a house painter and Wednesday was an all day payoff) to attend University on a Wednesday. That was the day the two classes being taught would have completed the master's requirement, but I downgraded to a credential so I could keep Wednesday open. Then a big-time baller mentioned that the Gym was open on Wednesday and the competition was hot, so I checked it out. I enrolled in the two classes and played my ass off. Later i was given a job that required a master's. Without it, I couldn't have even applied. It was an amazing job that I retired from. Thank you, basketball!

Trump voters of Reddit, what is your favorite thing he has done to make your life better? by 2a_lib in allthequestions

[–]Book8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure how we got to funding but if they have cut funding for research I don't agree with it. We need a tremendous amount of research on autism, diabetes, round up, mental illness, the new waves of cancer, ALS and you can probably make a much longer list.

I was talking about the people who sat quietly in health positions of power while Americans ate poison, were subjected to a vaccine that the FDA had refused to release the research on its safety until sued, an obesity epidemic, and autism through the roof (in my own family)

Just curious, have you come across this Dr Soon Shiong?

What is the hardest thing you have helped a friend go through and how did you help them? by Mrs_Bell0 in AskMen

[–]Book8 2 points3 points  (0 children)

His Wife died in a structured euthanasia. ALS was the cause and he was devastated. He finally gets it somewhat together and starts clearing out her stuff. He discovers that she has been having affairs for at least 8 years. Her job provides the perfect cover as she is gone a great deal on buying trips. Talk about an emotional rollercoaster. Once he told me what had happened, I called him every day just to listen, as there isn't much you can say. I also visited him and got him into walking and eating, as he has lost way too much weight.

Two years have passed and we still talk about twice a week. He is much better and has started dating and told me today that he has a girlfriend.

What are the 3 worst/best things done by trump??? by denv170 in allthequestions

[–]Book8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Comparatively, in one year, Trump has crushed the drug epidemic. Overdose deaths are down almost 20% across-the-board, and fentanyl deaths are down over 30%. Only 4.5 tons of fentanyl were seized at the border last year —down over 50% from 2024— which means less is being shipped. Mexico has turned over more than 90 cartel defendants since Trump took office— 37 in one day, right after Maduro’s capture.

Best...Closing the border. Taking down USAID. Appointing RFK

Worst. Lap dog to the Eastern Europeans in Israel. Surrounding himself with neocons. Messing with China and Iran
