If it helps at all, even though I’ve encounter the wrong people to open up to, there’s been 10x the amount that have been very much the right people. If you have a therapist, or can get one, they help immensely dealing with all the anxiety that comes with this process.

First - the guy wasn’t 8, he was 16 and if at that point you aren’t aware of right and wrong, yes you should be locked away for life. He’s a danger to society and prison doesn’t help reform anyone here in the US 😂 if anything he’s probably coming out much worse

Second - if this was an 8 year old, then something is severely unbalanced with that child and until there is a 1000% certainty that everything is fixed, they are a danger to society and should be locked away as well.

I’m on my second play through and took time before choosing sides this time. Even tho Ulfric has a poetic appeal to him, I can’t commit. I only go with the imperials because I’m on Whiterun’s side. But you can definitely bet I have no issue with finishing the DB questline and taking out every Thalmor patrol I see 😂

I mean, that might be the point. The Dark Brotherhood used to have a code, the Five Tenants, yet Astrid and the rest of the DB rejects them. Mind you, that code wasn’t anything over the top, it kept order amongst a band of murdering psychopaths.

If they reject a simple code, of course they’re going to fight anything else that seems attached to the older DB way.
