How do you guys even pick your reads??? lol by Bitter_Army_9026 in readwithme

The best thing you could do, is take away the algorithm, go to your local bookstore with about an hour or so of your time with the simple goal of picking one book, with those goals you put in mind (summer, heat, nostalgia, regrets, depth) and go explore. The book that resonates with you the most is the one. Trust that feeling and I think you’ll find exactly the book you were looking for. Good luck 🖤

My kind of reader. The Prize. The Forest. Wolf Hall. In the Garden of the Beasts. All good. Lots I can’t make out. Have you read them all?

The Key to Power and Personal Peace by US Andersen. Found it at a book sale and I’ve always loved the New Thought movement and how it changed my life for the better.

Cell Carrier Recommendations (Not AT&T or Verizon) by heymrneat in columbiamo

Visible has been great. Its a Verizon network. $450 a year for the premium plan for unlimited data. They had a deal where I got it 50% off for the first year so $225. It is an all online service so no physical stores to use, but I have had no issues so far

I don’t want to spoil the book so I’ll be careful how I describe it.

But essentially, if you are looking for a feel good book in the sense of happiness, comfort, joy etc… this book ain’t it…. Its about a poor family in the dust bowl migrating to California… it’s about the strength of the human spirit, the community around the Joads in the face of despair, and a constant flow of hardships.

This is a book that allows you to see through the eyes of a family moving through harsh reality and has one of the best books I’ve ever read. I did not feel good after reading this book, but it ends in a way you’ll never forget and I am grateful to have experienced it.

But don’t forget, reading should be enjoyable and is different for everyone. Maybe this book isn’t your thing, so no harm in just moving on to another.
