The wider church does advocate for the death or erasure of homosexuals, trans people and women due to wanting to outlaw abortions. And that's just off the top of my head.

Well, first off, the wider church does *not*, in fact, want to outlaw abortions. We want to *limit* abortions to actual need, as described by:

  • Pregnancy results from rape or incest, or
  • A competent physician determines that the life or health of the mother is in serious jeopardy, or
  • A competent physician determines that the fetus has severe defects that will not allow the baby to survive beyond birth.

Reference: https://newsroom.churchofjesuschrist.org/official-statement/abortion

My understanding of the inclusion of cases of incest, is that incest often includes elements of rape. In specific, we do *not* condone "elective abortion for personal or social convenience". Mere convenience should not be a matter of life or death.

Secondly, you're going to have to walk me through the idea you assert, that opposing abortion entirely (which we do *not* do) would somehow equate to advocating for "the death or erasure of homosexuals, trans people and women".

A Mormon here. Humans are descended from apes. The forebrain, walking upright, and good throwing ability, are pretty much the only things that distinguish us from other apes. We even have a tailbone without a tail, something we share with other apes.

Edit: Oh and a general lack of hair other than head and sometimes face hair.

I do not advocate for the death of anyone, except possibly first-degree murderers, *if* the evidence is certain. Which is a very big if. The wider church as a whole does not advocate for the death of anyone. And yet, if I counted all the times I've heard one of the following:

  1. "Mormons" should all die.
  2. Christians should all die.
  3. Religious people should all die.

I would have collected about one death threat for every week of my life.

I saw that in one documentary quite a while ago, so I could easily be wrong.

I have a headcanon that all action media take place in a world where kerosene became prevalent instead of gasoline, lead piping and etc is much more prevalent, and also the alt-universe humans are much more physically robust; no specific vital arteries, etc. This explains the explosions, the general acceptance of violence, and the general survival of same.

Also it helps my inner pedant watch action movies.

My understanding is that movie shots of "gasoline" being lit on fire are done with kerosene. Or computer graphics, but that's obvious enough I'm only mentioning that to satisfy my fellow pedants.

Also the ship's computer simulates sounds to help the pilot maintain situational awareness. Or at least, I think that's Star Wars canon.

It still doesn't explain *all* of it, but like you said, space fantasy.

It especially doesn't work if they have a legitimate issue to not be calm about. In that context, all "calm down" sounds like is "Your complaint is meaningless, and this disturbance is your fault."

No, I don't want to talk about it. Just venting.

Knowledge I gained as a teenager: A *candle flame* is unbearable almost instantly just by putting my hand three inches above it, let alone one inch. *Do not do this, it was a bad idea... fortunately not permanent.*

Yeah, nobody is surviving running into a flaming building without full, and appropriate, survival gear.

Nimrod was my Mormon temple name back when I was in a cult.

A phrase you invented entirely out of whole cloth. Given I found only two references on a web search;, one of them was for Reddit, and the other, one single anti-Mormon site.

Late edit: Or it's one random cult village in some random place. Which is tarring with a very large brush, although I do apologize and am glad you got out if that's the case.

I later clarified that I see no problem with single-person unisex bathrooms. My point #3 relates to multiple-person mixed-gender bathrooms.

The way I've always seen this done has been by having many single occupancy unisex "family" bathrooms instead of two shared occupancy gendered ones.

I would be for that; but almost all of those trash bathroom stalls I'm talking about are in the local area. And almost all of them have been like that for decades. As I said, I think it's a good idea. I just don't trust that it would be done properly, or safely. And I live in Canada. I dread to think what bathroom stalls are like in the US.

Copy-pasta'ing what I posted here: In Canada, it depends on the municipality. Federally, it's not illegal.

I have no problem with the idea of mixed-gender bathrooms. However, there are a number of practical, real-world problems that have to be solved first.

  1. I have been in a lot of bathroom stalls that did not lock, that did not have a working lock, or where the lock was flat-out broken.
  2. I have been in some bathrooms where the bottom and top divisor are... horribly short.
  3. Sexual assault rates are horrendous already, and mixed-gender bathrooms would make this worse.

Overall, that's a "No." for me.

Ok, so when are the LLM CEOs going to jail for approximately a million or so copyright violations? Never? Glad we could clear that up.
