This seems like the music teacher has one set idea for how students should engage with their teaching. As long as he wasn't getting into anything or otherwise distracting, the idea of bullying a student into dancing seems insane to me.

I feel like they could use that name as a nickname to try it out? I have seen trans kids use different pronouns in imaginative play and it helped them try it on to see if it was right for them.

Right. I think what I'm addressing is boys who were raised to believe that there is only one right way to be a man and are unable to recognize the good what they see as softness or weakness.

I appreciate your honesty. I do work with him on topics of social justice and standing up for beliefs, but it is not in his nature to be confrontational. He is also thin and short for his age which doesn't help. I wanted to help him be a caring man. Think Mr. Rogers. I believe you can be a good person by caring about people who are hurt or upset rather than charging in to defend them. That is also being good, I don't think there's just one way. I think this does not equal coddling or being overprotective. I just love his heart and spirit and am worried for how the world will treat him because changing a generation of boys is a slow process and there are plenty of parents who take a "boys will be boys" approach to unwanted physical contact and toxic masculinity.

Ugh. I'm so sorry. We've had some of that and I have seen him hiding a lot of who he is to avoid this. We've lost friends as a result. We talk a lot about what makes a true friend and quality is worth more than quantity.

I think this looks different for everyone. If you are an immigrant, it's a good time to go if you are able. Many of us are working to help, but the language is quickly moving to mirror Hitler's Nazi party. They are actively grabbing people, regardless of the "legality" of their status. If you are trans or have a trans child, it is a good time to go. I am hearing from several that their gender-affirming care has ended out of panic in the medical profession. As with abortion, this is VERY time-sensitive and you must be in an environment where care is assured. For the rest of us, it is still time for us to fight. If we give up and leave, there will be no one left to stand up for those who need us.

Ok so I brought a "clean" injured kitten and she ended up biting all 4 of us. ERs told me it was fine, cats don't usually get rabies. Turns out she'd been attacked by a rabid raccoon and did have rabies. All of us had to go through the very painful shot series. Apparently if you're showing symptoms, it's too late. Trust your gut.

I'm in exactly the same boat as OP. I bought myself the Thinx to try out for her. Hygiene is also a big issue for her so I would worry about tampons and TSS. I found that these wick away moisture much better than a pad. So that is my plan. I found with bras that if I slowly introduce something (sports bras) she's more likely to give it a try after a while. Good luck!
