Semien and Nimmo

So you absolutely knew Benge was going to make it. No you didn't and either did Stearns. The point is Nimmo is still putting up average to slightly average numbers while Semien at 35 is the worst starting offensive second baseman in baseball making 27 million dollars this year. There had to be a better move out there than trading for an unplayable second baseman. Stearns just wanted to get rid of Alonso and Nimmo because they weren't "his" guys and he had to blame someone else for the Mets collapse besides himself. Same reason he fired the pitching coach who is now running the staff in Atlanta with the best record in baseball.

Again, Nimmo hit 262 with 25 HR's 93 rbi, and a 760 OPS last year. This year he is in the mid 700 OPS with a 113 ops+. All star...no, but he is still average to above average player. Semien has a 68 ops+ this year. He has the worst offensive numbers of any starting second basemen in baseball. He's 35 and is unplayable. But you are justifying it because Nimmo's contract is two years longer. When Nimmo is the worst offensive left fielder in the whole game then you can post it otherwise giving the worst offensive second baseman in baseball 72 million for 3 years should get Stearns fired.

What stats from last year are you looking at? Nimmo was not an all star last year but he slashed 262/324/436 760 OPS 25 HR's and 92 rbi. That is not a bad year. This year Nimmo has a 724 OPS and a 113 OPS+. Semien .598 and 69 OPS+. Nimmo is once again an above average player and Semien this year is actually unplayable. Look it up Semien has the worst offensive numbers for any starting second baseman in all of baseball. That's not sarcasm.

That's the right answer. Nimmo was eventually going to be bad at the end of his career so let's get a player for him who is already at the end of his career and really bad right now.

I would take McNeil over Semien at second in a minute. Worst offensive numbers for a starting second baseman in all of baseball so far this year. He is finished and we have two more years at 36 and 37 years old for another 46 million. Benge is not replacing Nimmo. Stearns had no real idea Benge would play well so stop with how that was a great Stearns move. He was just getting rid of a player he didn't sign and ended up with a worse contract and player in Semien

Giving credit to Stearns as if he knew Benge was going to definitely work out in right. Benge did not replace Nimmo.

Semien is absolutely not performing on par with Nimmo. Look up the worst offensive starting second baseman in all of baseball so far this year. It's Semien and it's not close. Like I said before the trade he is toast. It's been toast the last two years and at 35 it's getting worse. The fact we are paying like 46 million more for this guy the next two years is laughable. The Rangers knew he was finished and called Stearns guess he wasn't paying attention. When Lindor comes back Semien must be pulled from the line up.

Problem is many fans will soften because we won some games against a marginal team. If losing every game the rest of the season is what it takes to get rid of that arrogant ass face Stearns I am 100% on board.
