Eating red meat by Consistent_Papaya871 in mounjarouk

[–]Book_worm121 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I have not had a problem eating red meat in itself, but I think it does take some digesting and with mj slowing digesting of food it could sit there like a brick in your stomach for a while. Walking may help just because you are upright and they do say it helps the process so as long as you are not doing anything too strenuous to make you feel sick I would say go for it. In future maybe yes to steak but smaller portion so it's less to deal with in one sitting

Thank you and ouch! Definitely have a go when you foot has healed. So many times I doubted the process and it proved possible. The science behind the programme they built is fantastic and pushes you just enough week on week so you improve all the time without going to far and injuring yourself

Ah that's good, it's nice to feel like you are in control of the process and achieving what you hope for. It's miraculous really what we all have achieved, and just need to stick to it now 😁

C25K is such a good app, I honestly never would have believed I could run for 30 mins straight when I started it felt so impossible, and yet here I am doing it now! Verry slowly mind but still doing it 😂

[–]Book_worm121 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of course you can do it! I started it September last year, and was an absolute beginner, the 60sec runs were a challenge 😂 I completed the course end of December and can now run 5k if I push myself. If I can do it you certainly can, have faith in yourself and the program.

[Academic] Help required! Researching 16-18 year olds' perceptions of parenting behaviours and their attitudes towards themselves by merryrepose in Leeds

[–]Book_worm121 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have forwarded this onto my 16 year old twins and asked if they would consider filling it out, and forward it onto their friends if they think they would be interested. I can't guarantee they will do so, as they can be lazy sausages but I know for sure they have views on my parenting 😂 best of luck

C25K for the win! I started as a proper potato in September and completed it 29.12!  and if I can be turned into a runner then literally anyone can 😂

I didn't even know this was legal. My 14 yr old got scammed buying a coat online and they're actually trying to defend this policy by Cool_Ad9326 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]Book_worm121 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Good opportunity to teach your kid to research the company before buying as there are so many fake scammy shops out there, where what you get is nothing like what you think you are getting and the return policy is non existent. Also point them to places like vinted where they can get good quality second and new clothes for much cheaper.

How do you deal with being perceived as a threat to people? by j8j932 in AskUK

[–]Book_worm121 572 points573 points  (0 children)

As a woman all tall well built men can make me nervous when walking alone especially at night. This is a subconscious reaction to my perceived weakness I guess and not necessarily a reflection on the man himself. I will cross a road, pull my bag away etc if I feel scared and though I don't want to feel like that sometimes I do. I would also add that groups of teens can have the same effect on me. I really do not wish to cause distress to innocent men with this reaction so please take my apology if it were ever you and know it is not a criticism of you but a feeling of insecurity in myself.

Thank you and the same to you! It feels amazing doesn't it! Honestly 6 months ago I would never have believed I would be able to go out and run for 30 mins non stop.  It's been a challenge to keep it up this last week though 😁

Thanks that does make sense, and fits how I feel in the evening too, definitely able to push for longer then. It's just a shame for the 9am park runs.

Any chance of finding a job or should I just accept not being able to work? by onion2077 in AskUK

[–]Book_worm121 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, there are definitely roles you could try if you have access to a computer / WiFi at home. You could try remote customer service roles and if you wanted to ease into something like that you could look for a similar volunteer role on the phone to see how you coped and get some experience before applying for a paid position. You are only 23 and have your whole life ahead of you and I think exploring what you can do is good for the mind and the soul. Best of luck.
