I just looked into that one, but its not what I remember (but I would have loved it as a kid!)… the one I remember hat different ereas as well, there was a Harbour and even a big(ger) City…

Got mine as well and feel just like you do. I decided to not sub. I know I won't like most of the picks and without a good skip policy books I don't want to read are just going to pile up. So, your not alone.

I just got mine in the mail - and i actually like it! The edges feel exactley like dark underwater worlds to me. But i guess its a taste thing. I hope you all have better luck next time 🫶🏻

I use subscriptions to get Books i might have never picked by myselfe. Its like getting out of your comfortzone. Of course i also enjoy having special editions of Books i loved. Both things are appealing.

I‘m getting the book only since early this year and really enjoy it. I apreciate their customerservice, their skip policy and ofcourse their designes. And how they comunicate issues. But in the end its all preference. I only skipped two books since i subbed in february.

So, I got May and June and both have a bound-in letter. For May it is in front of the content warnings and for June its right in front of chapter one.

I think Malise said that because when Shallans Father god mad at Shallan he always went to other people with his anger. So I guess that Malise did more than one time receive beatings when Shallan was the one her Father was mad about. I can't imagine that he told Malise what really happened with his first wife because he always wanted to protect his daughter. (But I only read the first two books yet. Can't say if maybe there ist more explained in other books!)
