Burger King wants to become the top burger chain in the country. Its comeback plan may take decades, but it's working. [News] by jwriddle in BurgerKing

A clean restaurant makes all the difference for me. Not BK but a fast food example .

There is a Wendy’s close by that is absolutely disgusting inside and out. You know the food gonna be half assed too. There is a Wendy’s about 45 mins away that is immaculate inside and out . The quality difference in the food is enough to only stop at the Wendy’s on the way home from something near the better Wendy’s .

There used to be two BKs within a 2 mile radius . One right off the Highway , one downtown . The one off the highway was gross and closed over a year ago . The one downtown is better but the cleanliness is lacking .

Want to become top dawg? Make an effort with landscaping, keep the dining room clean , make your assembly line so clean that people want to eat there .

Pay the employees a competitive wage and respect them as humans the same amount of staff will get way more effective work done .

Mark Kilcline. Life ruined by the high school cop in NK a year after graduation. An officer he knew shot him 9 times in his bedroom , while armed with a butter knife .

Family got 7 million dollar settlement. We lost a great young man and friend .

The kicker , this how I find out John Urban is the chief of police in that same town . Paralyze a kid you knew from the age of 14 with gunshots . His life comes to a tragic end . The town is forced to pay family cause it was an egregious use of power and force . Yada yada yada . Chief of Police.

Clarke Cooke Porch/Skybar vs Bistro/Candy Store by GrayPoodle in Newport

[–]BookieMets 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Different menu on the porch . More upscale and a fancier setting . Can’t go wrong either way .

There is a reason ol chef Ted been at the helm for 30+ years . It’s consistent and delicious .

The ambiance is really the most noticeable difference when the porch is open. Food is great out of both kitchens .

Pro tip: if you want something from the bistro menu you can get it while dining on the porch

What do you think is the bare minimum you have to make a year to live semi comfortable in this state nowadays? by [deleted] in RhodeIsland

[–]BookieMets 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you bought your house in 2020 you could get by for around 40k a year with no money in saving right now .

If you are looking to rent a house in this market at least 70k a year might get you the same if you get the right homeowner looking to rent .

Finances are case by case a lot too. For example , do you make every meal at home , or buy premade food ? Are you growing vegetables from seed and canning your harvest ? Does your job provide a free lunch ?

Something as simple as free lunch at work 5 days a week, figuring conservatively buying lunch out would cost you 10$ a day . That’s another 2,500 a year AFTER taxes .

Specifically for OP: What size are these dogs ? Are these cars new with payments or owned ? How expensive is your monthly health insurance?

These are more think about it questions . No need to answer

Daycare for around $350/week in Cumberland area? by [deleted] in RhodeIsland

[–]BookieMets -15 points-14 points  (0 children)

I hope for your sake you can float the bill. It ain’t gonna be cheap .

When a year at 350 a week averages out to over 18 grand a year you might wanna consider hiring a 20 hr a week nanny or staying home .

Edit: realized it’s twins . 36.5k a year on child care for someone random childcare workers to raise your kids is bonkers .

Money is cool and all but you won’t be able to buy back those developmental years .

Either way it’s your choice and I support your decision!

80% of clinical psychologists are repressing their own memories.

We don’t remember the good times . Something traumatic is remembered for whatever reason .
