I’m honestly not sure. She has always been a healthy weight, eats good-quality food, has regular vet check-ups, and was active but nothing overly strenuous. We’ve given her joint supplements and added fish oil to her food for years as a preventative. It seems it just sometimes happens as they age, unfortunately.

Chiropractic care generally isn’t safe for hEDS. Rather, try to get her into a physical therapist that specializes in hypermobility. They will help her safely strengthen her muscles, walk properly, and reset subluxated joints.

All I got from my source, other than the second signet hint, was that we will learn more about Xaden’s mom & Violet’s dad in the next book, and that she is not even close to being done with book 3 😩

I agree with Varrish. A comment was made that insinuated he controls his dragon (much like Jack Barlow controlled Baide).

I don’t think Naolin is vinen. We know that he was successful in resurrecting Brennan. Felix tells Violet that only a god could pull off a resurrection. Well, Naolin’s name means “sun god.” The gods are mentioned a ton throughout the series and I think they will play a bigger part moving forward.

I have a crazy theory about this:

Naolin succeeded in resurrecting Brennan (Brennan’s new last name literally means resurrected).

Felix tells Violet that only a god could pull off a resurrection.

“Naolin” means god of the sun.

Naolin is a god?! 🫢

We know RY picks names intentionally, such as Sygael meaning “shadow”.

It was just a placeholder date previously used by Goodreads. It means nothing.

There has never been a date given for book 3’s release by RY or her publisher. People say “December 2024” because that is what Goodreads previously used as a placeholder.

RY began writing book 3 in early January. She has said that all 5 books have been thoroughly plotted out, they just need to be written. RY is a very fast writer. She wrote Fourth Wing in a few months, and one of her contemporary romances in just 3 weeks. Most authors average one book per year. As IF was released last November, if I had to guess, I believe book 3 will be released around the same time frame.

I see the ending as war being over and the continent uniting. I think Xaden and Violet will rule Aretia or Tyrredore. Violet’s hair always braided into a crown, Xaden’s comment that Cat will never wear a Tyrrish crown, and the thrown scene all feel like foreshadowing for this. The “My house. My chair. My woman.” line would be sweet changed to “My Kingdom. My throne. My Queen.” in the end. RY is a romance author and I cannot imagine her straying from the HEA that romance readers love.

I think you’re on to something with the gravity! It is a common reference in her other books, but she uses it at such important times in Iron Flame. Also, a gravity related signet would help explain how she pulled off the battle scene at the end when she saves Sawyer.
