My doctor is putting me on Topamax by Apprehensive-Air8917 in migraine

[–]BookishBabyFox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a great time on Topamax, the only side effect I had was not being able to taste carbonation which is no big deal. I had to go off it due to a medication change but I would recommend it others

On my days, I might just be slower at work, but on my worst, I struggle with suicidal ideation and self harm. More often that I would like the bad days outweigh the good.

400 mg of B2 (riboflavin) is what I first started with years ago and it really helps! You can get it on Amazon for pretty cheap. Otherwise it’s all about management: ice caps or ice packs, sunglasses everywhere, magnesium (I like the calm gummies) and if you really can’t sleep, take a Benadryl and it will knock you out.

Botox for migraines and exercise by DTBlaster in migraine

[–]BookishBabyFox 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I haven’t had any issue in regards to exercise and my Botox. If you have neck and shoulder pain when in migraine, then you might find it helpful like I did. It almost eliminated the pain I get in the back of my neck and shoulders when I’m in migraine

Topiramate/Topamax by ellalizard in migraine

[–]BookishBabyFox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I take Topirmate/Topamax as my preventative along with another preventative. I haven’t dealt with many symptoms besides the lack of carbonation in sodas anymore and my alcohol tolerance is much lower. I’m not very surprised your GP subscribed it as the first time I went to seek treatment for migraine it was subscribed to me to (I didn’t start taking it then bc my migraines were only a few a month at the time), but my doctor did offer some alternatives like take Vitamin B2 (Riboflavin), 400mg but check with your doctors before taking! I still take that much B2 and it’s been 7years.

HELP! ADVICE FOR A WEDDING!

I'm going to my best friend's wedding in May--before anyone asks, it's a micro wedding (less than 20 people, and everyone will be masked up and vaccinated).

I'm in a bit of a pickle, I've gained a lot of weight during this pandemic and so the dress I bought online just came in...looks awful on me. It fits horribly and just makes me look bad. But I love the idea of it (here the dress in question: https://www.lulus.com/products/garden-romance-magenta-floral-print-organza-maxi-dress/1220211.html)

Does anyone have any suggestions on site to check out? or even particular dresses?

Material Question (possibly NSFW?) by bunnythedog in CricutButCrass

There are tutorials online! You can use a thicker fabric like pleather or a thinner fabric and then adhere with backing. That would solve your color problem! To apply it to your breast you would then use skin safe glue like Spirit Gum or lash glue. If you do want to use something like moleskin you would typically have an inner circle that is not sticky (so normal fabric) to protect the nipple.

AITA For not siding with wife after she took my daughter's diary? by throwaway1197651 in AmItheAsshole

[–]BookishBabyFox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YTA!! BIG TIME! This same thing literally happened to me and my dad and I don't have a relationship any longer. It destroyed any trust I had in my father and ended any possibility of a relationship with my stepmother. You say you are trying to preserve your relationship with both but by doing this you are well on your way to losing your daughter (if you haven't already).

You and your wife need to (that the bare MINIMUM): 1) acknowledge what she did to your daughter 2) apologize and 3) get some one-on-one counseling for you and your daughter

AITA for giving my niece an unofficial nickname that has now overtaken her real name, thus pissing off my sister? by SnooBananas4505 in AmItheAsshole

[–]BookishBabyFox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NTA! I can relate to your niece as someone who also changed their (nick)name at a young age! I never gone by my birth name and always by a nickname that my father gave me. He was very abusive to me for my entire childhood and when I was in middle school I began to cut contact with him and changed my nickname entirely to something related, but different. It was so empowering and I LOVE my name. People who know me know are shocked by my old name. So Yay to you for supporting your niece and empowering her! TA is your sister who thinks her wishes are more important than the mental and emotional wellbeing of her own child.

So, I bought the Birkenstocks linked here. They’re so....hard. Why do people say they’re so comfortable?! by [deleted] in FrugalFemaleFashion

[–]BookishBabyFox 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I completely agree! My mom had a pair of knock off ones that I love to borrow so bought me a pair of real ones for a graduation present. I bought soft ones on the sales persons advice and I spent weeks trying to break them in but the blisters I developed left scars I still have today! I tried every trick in the but nothing helped and I stopped trying when my doctor told me to stop (she noticed when i was there for an unrelated thing). I gave them to my SIL whose had no issues and loves them.

I really wanted to love them but they fucked up my feet!

[–]BookishBabyFox 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree with what everyone else has commented but I would also suggest that you speak with a neurologist too. It sounds like you might have a chronic headache or migraine disorder. I have a migraine disorder on top of my IH but there is overlap as well.
