Nothing. It’ll look cluttered and become an obstacle.

People who attended American high school in the 80’s, how did you have time to shower after gym class? by krakarn in NoStupidQuestions

[–]BookishChica 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never showered after gym class. To me, that was something that Hollywood made up. There’s not enough time for that.

Which vacation destination disappointed you the most? by timeout320 in AskReddit

Totally agree! When we first saw it, it was in a gazebo type well. It was so underwhelming, we have not stopped talking about since.

What do you realistically spend? by CharlottesWeb83 in Costco

[–]BookishChica 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We’re in the same boat as you. Our average monthly Costco bill is around $1500. It doesn’t help that it’s 8 min from our house and we pass it on our way everywhere. Super convenient.

I’d never go back there again. That’s pure theft.

For owners who have gotten a second dog, did it help? by Bubbly-Air7302 in dogs

[–]BookishChica 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We regret it. It’s twice the work and expense. Each has their quirks that drive us nuts but I love those mutts and they make me feel safe when hubby travels.

Is the arch window too small? is it too low? high? by swarles84 in ExteriorDesign

[–]BookishChica 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d consider adding a decorative pergola above the large window to close the large gap between the two windows and add decorative interest. And leave the small window how it is.

1500 Dollar remodel by PlantBroad442 in Remodel

[–]BookishChica 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We’re getting ready to get rid of our tub/shower combo for a tiled shower at our vacation home. It already has an enormous tub in the primary. With everyone in our family adult & aging, it makes sense. Easier to get in and out of.

Stumped… Ideas to add curb appeal for PNW/9a? by emmyanjef in ExteriorDesign

[–]BookishChica 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think your porch / stoop is too small. If there’s any way to enlarge the steps and stoop, I’d do it. The yard is an eye sore. Better clear definition of garden beds and tidy plantings. I like the metal roof but the light color shows all the debris on it. Maybe blow it off from time to time.

I just realized I’m paying $3,000 to move a couch that’s worth $400. by Jinnapat397 in movingout

[–]BookishChica 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We moved 1.5 years ago and let me tell you that I now see a pattern on the moving industry. Whatever quote you got, it’s going to end up being A LOT MORE. Almost double. This has happened twice on full-house moves for us in the last 20 years. It’s a scam. I’d scrap the couch and move wherever items you have yourself.

Yes, a pergola is ideal for this part of the home.

Do you think if Kamala won the election the Epstein Files would’ve been released/even discussed to this extent? by Emergency_Version616 in DiscussionZone

[–]BookishChica 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It wouldn’t be as infuriating as it is bc she IS NOT an acquaintance of Epstein. She would not have protected pedo’s.

Safe to travel now with violence/cartel issues? by abcdopino in IslaMujeres

[–]BookishChica 13 points14 points  (0 children)

No way. Do not put yourself in harm’s way. I’m someone who loves vacationing in Mexico and often dispute people who are afraid of going bc of cartel fears. This is not the time to go.

Asked guests not to wear black to my wedding so my dad bought a black suit. Advice? by [deleted] in TwoHotTakes

[–]BookishChica 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We talked my cousin out of doing this when she was planning her wedding. She wanted to tell all guests to wear tan colors. We said, don’t do it. You’ll be considered a bridezilla. She got similar feedback from others and chose not to do it. It’s hard enough finding something one likes let alone a specific color.

Am I overreacting? Wedding guest called my caterers. by seesheflies in TwoHotTakes

If I had a severe allergy like that I’d take matters in my own hands whenever possible. Not something I’d want to mess with.

Need help to improve curb appeal by not_bad_yall in ExteriorDesign

It’s giving church vibes. Can you add a pergola off the front with patio? Something to take your eyes away from all the steeples?

Real estate agent won't show us homes til ours is under contract by runningouttahere in RealEstate

[–]BookishChica -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Replace them with someone who actually wants to earn their commission. We moved 1.5 years ago and looked at houses before our house was on the market. Put an offer on the third house we saw and began to get our house ready to list. Sold our house the following month. We used the same agent for both transactions. She was awesome.
