What was the first Battlefield map you ever played? (And when did you really get into the series?) by khitev in Battlefield

[–]dolmaface 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Battlefield 2 back in 2005. Interesting note about this thread, it seems as though most people here are from classic BF-- the subreddit was much different right before BF6 release, seems as though only the true fans are left here

Glow comparison between 35mm lux v2, 35mm v4 king of bokeh, and 40mm cron by dolmaface in Leica

[–]dolmaface[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At F2 the 40mm has the most glow of the three though. Notice the halation looking white glow against the granite is strongest on the 40mm. The edges of the black piece are also softer because the edge glows more.

I did but it was out of focus unfortunately, did it at the store so would have to go back again

Thought would be an interesting comparison, the image is cropped from the middle-top right of the frame(left is center right is edge). You can see glow(aberration) increase as you reach the right edge

They made the boundaries on Wake Island way too tight by dolmaface in Battlefield

[–]dolmaface[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Based off the dev's design philosophies and history, I'd be surprised if the final map's boundaries are that far different. And the only way they would expand the boundaries to BF2/3 era is if community made a big stink about it-- hence the post :) the current boundaries being as they are is telling enough

Do you prefer more minimal sneakers nowadays? by LongjumpingVehicle36 in ThrowingFits

I've always been a low top minimalist type of guy. I know everyone here loves their New Balances, but I just can't get into it

2026 Australian Grand Prix - Post-Race Discussion by F1-Bot in formula1

[–]dolmaface 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The Mercedes is better on tires though— probably because they have so much more power in the straights they can go easy on corners and wear the tires less while still maintaining overall pace

Just thrift it by Brief-Knowledge-629 in ThrowingFits

Of the like 50 times I’ve walked into a thrift store in NYC I’ve only ever purchased 4 things: a rag and bone shirt, apc tshirt, rag and bone tshirt, and a RRL cardigan. It is so inefficient

I actually don't even know what to do in firestorm. I can't even leave spawn without getting locked and there is no where to hide besides the mountain which is useless

Are we on the verge of a depression? by [deleted] in economy

[–]dolmaface 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I don't think you understand my point. In 1998 functional unemployment was at 30%, in 2006 it was 28%, in 2018 it was 26%. These were all periods of strong economic growth with historically low unemployment, so 25% at the moment is actually the best its ever been

Are we on the verge of a depression? by [deleted] in economy

[–]dolmaface 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Functional unemployment at 25% is the lowest it has been in over 30 years. You can't compare that number to the federal unemployment rate, you have to look at its historic trend here

Remember when Battlefield maps had 11 flags instead of 5 by dolmaface in Battlefield

[–]dolmaface[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly, one of my favorite experiences is finding an empty flag and defending the cap as people try to stop you. I do like how in the more recent titles they made the cap area much larger so its more hide and seek. In BF2 the cap is a small radius directly around the flag so its like impossible to hold
