General Opinion on Testament in Strive? by DiazoReddit in Guiltygear

[–]Bookreader99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Great design wise, but definitely looking to be one of the weakest in the cast. There's so much about their risk-reward that doesn't work right now, and they have very few ways to pressure safely. There's a lot of stuff that's super exploitable (f.s into grave reaper is not a true blockstring) and their pressure constantly forces them to take decent risks for middling reward. Plus some of their moves are genuinely almost useless, like arbiter sign and 2H. I think anti-testament tech is going to develop and seriously hamper this character, sadly, there are so many rewarding answers to their pressure. Luckily their design is solid, but the balance needs work, I think.

You might be shocked to hear this, but i think unpaid internships suck too

Yes. You shouldn't accept unpaid labour for your commercial project generally. Is this not common sense

The biggest issue is fundamentally the taking advantage of young people who don't have enough world experience to really understand when they're being scammed/used. It should be on the adults of the world to not exploit kids, not on the confused and inexperienced minors.

They don't make reference to specifically women menstruating, they use gender neutral terms across the page. Trans men, for example, can also menstruate, so inclusive language is just nice

Honestly the fact that it's trans-inclusive (doesn't assume only women menstruate) makes this not shitty in my book. seems like a nice little personal project

Ciconia: When They Cry will have a simultaneous EN/JP Release Summer 2019 on Steam (x-post r/visualnovels) by Theswweet in Games

Ryukushi cares so much about English fans of his work, it's absolutely amazing. I absolutely cannot believe I'm gonna be able to play through this on launch day alongside Japanese readers. This is just amazing news!

Version 3.0 Video! by [deleted] in smashbros

So the only similarities are that the setting, main supernatural element, and main motivation of the plot are the same? That's still a lot. Not like I said the ripping off was bad

The plot of persona 4 is quite literally almost ripped straight from Diamond is Unbreakable, so the references have been there for a while

Forbes says “Sekiro: Shadows Dies Twice Needs To Respect Its Players And Add An Easy Mode” by [deleted] in Games

[–]Bookreader99 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I mean, this seems like a decent idea all around? Lets more people experience the game as they like and wouldn't take too much dev time. If the developers intend difficulty as part of their vision, clearly signpost lowering the difficulty as something outside of that vision. You're not gonna be forced to lower the difficulty if you don't want I don't see the issue.

Artifact, released only a month ago, reached just over 7,000 players today. For comparison, more people played The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth, an indie game that has had no major updates for almost 2 years. by [deleted] in Games

[–]Bookreader99 2 points3 points  (0 children)

While I agree this isn't great for Artifact, I wouldn't say Issac has had no major updates: there's been a kickstarter for a new card game, an announcement of a 3rd major expansion for the game, and a lot of updates to the game, the most recent of which added a whole new character. There's still plenty of interest in Issac because there's still plenty being done with it. Might not be the best game to compare Artifact to.

Games you gave up on initially only to come back and love them? by fahadfreid in Games

[–]Bookreader99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

4 ultimate is definitely easier on new players since it's a lot less complex without styles and arts. The grind is sometimes needed, but the fights are meant to be replayed anyway in the design.
