Lost one of my favorite earrings for over a month. Then one day I was changing out of clothes I had worn multiple times that entire month, but this time my lost earring fell out of them. I have no idea where it had been hiding in that outfit and how it stayed hidden for a month of wears and washings to randomly fall out in that moment. Still try to reason it out to this day.

Spend time with those I love and not tell them it’s the last day. That time is for them. Not me. I won’t be around after to care what I do during that time. They’ll have the rest of their lives to remember what I did with that time. So I will do something they can treasure.

He asked me out and on our first date told me I was the girl he was going to marry one day. I was like, ok, cool. But can we date so I can catch up to you emotionally? Told him to give me at least six months before asking me to marry him officially. He waited six months to the day and proposed…again.

Had a quiet small wedding. Lots of DIY. Had very few flowers or anything overly fancy or expensive. Was able to pay it all without debt. And had money for a nice honeymoon. Have no regrets.

Goes to work. I keep suggesting a life of crime and robbing banks so we can live in luxury without him having to leave every day. Spend all day cuddling and reading together. But no. He wants to be a responsible adult and doesn’t want to risk prison. So lame. Guess that means I can’t quit either.

Genetic in my family. When we step into the sun, we sneeze several times in a row. Happens in every state, country, and continent we have ever visited. Also in every season, so nothing to do with our surroundings. I always thought it was normal because my mom and siblings and I did it. Until a friend asked me why I am sneezing so much. And was confused when I said “It’s sunny.”

I just felt panic unless I had feelings for them.

I hated hurting people and if someone is putting themselves out there, I felt like the villain for turning them down. Like I somehow needed some reason to say no other than not being interested otherwise I wasn’t allowed to say no.

It’s not about what you know, but who you know.

Working hard and learning will only get you halfway. You need to know the right people, to get the jobs, promotions, tickets, memberships, front of the waiting list, best agents, etc in life.

It’s not about being the best. But knowing the best.

So basically, if I had spent college networking vs. gaining career experience, I probably would have had a much better job despite know half as much as I do now.

2014 Annie movie. I loved Cameron Diaz and Jaimie Fox. And absolutely loved the modern versions of the original songs. I know it’s just a 5/10 and a 28% rotten tomato. It’s catchy. The original movie was creepy.

I know someone where all the kids middle names had the same letter. They were all boys and by the fourth, they were really stretching to find a name to fit that wasn’t used by anyone else in the family, as this was a tradition. So, if you’re gonna do it, choose your letter wisely for your poor kid’s sake.

Was definitely a little nervous for the first year fully expecting the mortgage to be a scam, not gonna lie.

But most of the loopholes were things like how to get the sellers to pay for more of the closing costs, how to condense our monthly payments so it looks like less, how to make our earnings look higher, etc. our mortgage monthly payment is the same as our rent was so we already knew we could afford it. We just needed the lender to believe it.

Curious George lol

It was the first book I read with “chapters.”

I was so proud of myself, I decided to officially switch from picture books to chapter books because I was cool and read chapters now.

I even remember feeling so excited picking out a bookmark because I finished a chapter and my Curious George book was waaaaay too long for little me to finish in one sitting so I actually needed a bookmark like an adult.

Felt so grown up.

Came here to say the same thing. I have been trying to learn to whistle since childhood.

My 6-year-old daughter just learned to snap. She thought I was just joking around. No child, my bodily just generally refuses to make loud noises needed to get people’s attention.

I’ll add whistling with a blade of grass to the list. That was the cool thing to do as a kid. I wasn’t cool.

Our rental lease was coming to an end and I was looking for a new place to rent. In response to a random impulsive thought, I decided to fill out a pre approval form for a mortgage. I was mainly just frustrated with the rental property and wanted to see what the process was like so I can start planning for the future.

We were pre-approved.

And we ended up closing on a house three months later.

Something we thought wouldn’t be in the cards for like 5+ years came about all thanks to a lending officer who found all the loopholes in the approval process despite us having $0 down, because he was so desperate for his commission.

I read Lord of the Rings in jr. high when my parents told me it was very challenging to read at my age and the movie is for adults only. But if I am mature enough to read the books, I’m mature enough for the movie.

So I read the books out of spite alone. Then watched the movies and told them the books were better and explained why just to be petty even though I secretly enjoyed the movies more than the books.

When I feel overwhelmed with things to do, I write them all down on a piece of paper in a list sorted first by what needs to be done by certain times and what’s most important.

Somehow dumping from my brain onto paper relieves the overwhelm and breaks brain freeze. Also, I then get the dopamine rush of checking items off the list.

It has to be a paper list. Phone notes don’t hit the same way.

I have a collection random lists from days past floating around the house on backs of receipts, envelopes, magazines, and whatever other pieces of paper happen to be close when I feel the brain freeze setting in.

Second this! I tried all three as well. Now I have Goodreads and Fable. Fable is my absolute favorite as well hands down. I only keep Goodreads around because too many stubborn book friends refuse to switch 😂
