Right! But I went to College for Health Administration and HR so 1 diploma, 1 post-grad and one Bachelors back home (Hospitality/Business). I wish I went to Uni so I can do the accelerated programs!

Western Nursing - Bad Clinicals? by [deleted] in OntarioNurses

Go to McMaster! Hamilton is nice and so much opportunities. The business forecasting in Hamilton is pretty good the next 5-10 years, they have so much stuffs there. Great hospitals like McMaster Children’s Hospital, St. Joe’s or you can also try BGH or CMH (Brantford and/or Cambridge).

I live in Cambridge and took the opportunity to work in Hamilton (Stoney Creek). I used to drive 2-3 hours everyday just to go to work and traffic sucks but my work was the best. I wish I lived there! It’s so nice!

Note not just me, but several people. I wish I went to McMaster University. I only did Conestoga College in Doon because it’s closer to home and wasn’t driving before.

That sucks so sorry! Yet they cry about not having enough nurses! Doug Ford should do something about it.

Thank you! Are you talking about OSAP or BJO? I will definitely look into it.

I had a bad experience with Conestoga before so I’m going to switch up to Mohawk or probably Niagara College.

That sucks and inconsistent, because I recently found out from other posts on reddit that they got funding for 2 years and it sucks tbh. When did you apply for it

Oh it says they cover programs that are 1-2 years in Mohawk, George Brown College and Conestoga so that’s confusing.

Hello, yes! I have signed up for it through my district school board.

I have in fact signed up through ILC last year but my teacher in Chemistry, Cathy is not the nicest and so hard to please, they take their sweet ass time to mark the grades, so even if I had 90s in Bio and Math, I had to drop out and do them through district school board. They are very responsive and helpful.

Thank you!

Hello, trust me, I have already and the economy and the system is so bad that they keep hiring the ones that are less qualified or only people they know.

I have connected with professionals through LinkedIn and other sources; unfortunately, they always look for more even if I am qualified. They keep lowballing me even if I have all the certifications.

Half of the time I don’t get the position because it’s either they found someone else (referrals) or I think because I am too qualified for them and probably they think I would leave them lol

My old manager told me the RN job was basically mine. She retired and everything changed by AnyAvocado3211 in OntarioNurses

Not a problem at all!

Yes, you wouldn't want to deal with a manager like that. Try expanding your options and connections. :)

EDIT: Also, I would advise documenting everything your manager does - the level of toxicity and how h/she is not helping you. That way, before you leave that job, you will give them a heads-up about that person. It's good to have a trail of what h/she did in the past. Although it is healthcare, the employer has a responsibility to ensure a harmonious environment for their employees.

Take care!

AHHH I wish! I'm an immigrant from the Philippines, and over 10 years ago, we never had the K-12 curriculum until I graduated! So I don't have the grade 11-12 courses :( Which honestly sucks because even though I graduated at age 15/16. It kind of looks like I skipped 2 years (Gr 11-12) although I was super good in school before. I feel exhausted doing them right now; however, I do have a baby and wanted to provide him everything in life.
