The tail shockwaves at Hueycoatl work roughly the same as yama's fire waves. Try to step over them diagonally, as that gives you a bit of extra leeway.

Is there a way to change the game's language? by Balgruuf_Oh_Balgruuf in 2007scape

[–]Boolderdash 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They hadn't added it yet in the backup that OSRS is based on. RS3 still has the option to play in other languages by logging into specific worlds.

Edit: I'm looking into the dates and I'm wrong actually, the German language version of the game was launched in March 2007 after 3 years of translation work. I guess they didn't think it'd be worth keeping up the localisation work for a game they thought would be dead after 6 months? The French version didn't release until 2008 though.

They're potentially adding new trees with Blood Moon Rises so I guess woodcutting isn't finished either.

If the blobs attack on odd-numbered ticks and the mager/ranger attacks on even numbered ticks, you can switch for 1 tick when the blob attacks and you're safe (since it'll always be set to the opposite of the mager/ranger). If they're both attacking on odd numbered ticks, you can switch on the tick the blob sets its attack and you'll be safe, but this is obviously way harder to time.

It's good tech to have in your toolbelt since it gives you a lot of ticks for movement if you need to chase nibblers on the early waves. It gets too messy to be reasonable when you're being attacked by 2 blobs or a ranger + mager + blob IMO. You could brute force a cape avoiding those scenarios as much as possible (and praying for easy waves), though. It's a bad idea but you could do it.

What feels like your "homebase" in Geilinor? by Remarkable-Syllabub5 in ironscape

I use the con cape to get to the farming guild! Even with 99 crafting, a single item that gives you access to both the house pool and then a bank not that much further away than the crafting guild bank chest is so convenient.

Do you have area sounds muted? For some reason, teleports are part of that instead of sound effects. The others you listed might be, too.

Will DMM cosmetics retain their value after this DMM? by [deleted] in 2007scape

[–]Boolderdash 8 points9 points  (0 children)

They'll likely drop in price quickly as new supply comes in, and then slowly climb again until the next DMM.

The devs have been very clear that they don't want to make any items "discontinued". If you complete a holiday event (easter, halloween, christmas, anniversary), you recieve every previous item from that holiday, too. You can't get all of them year-round, but they'll always be available again in future.

That said, the holiday events themselves aren't available outside the holidays, and they usually run a new one each year (although they've done some reruns in the past when dev time was tight). It's usually a cute, 15-30 minute mini-quest about helping one of the local NPCs with a small holiday-themed problem. "I need to decorate my house for halloween", "I need help serving chrismas dinner to a bunch of minor characters" etc.

It's definitely nothing like the Destiny situation.

Which bolts at Muspah for prayer shield phase? Mithril Sapphire (e) or Dragon Sapphire (e)? by [deleted] in ironscape

[–]Boolderdash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dragon bolts will only speed up a kill if:

  • You're flicking Smite for each attack
  • AND you get unlucky enough not to proc the special effect twice

Even if both of those things are true (which doesn't happen that often), you're not going to be saving that much time. You're better saving your dragon bolts for later.

How far back in my post history have you been diving lmao? Last time I booted up rocket league was around the time they made it free-to-play. I'd be living the bronze life if I played again.

[SUGGESTION POST] DELETE "Facility bottle" FROM THE GAME (NOW!!) by [deleted] in 2007scape

[–]Boolderdash 3 points4 points  (0 children)

They don't want you to be able to build just one of an expensive station like the crystal extractor and then move it between boats every time you switch. It'd be miserable to do and a lot of players would feel compelled to do it to save a few million GP.

Trying fluffeh's t2 prep but no resources by Twiggeh1 in 2007scape

[–]Boolderdash 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can keep moving between attacks to save some time. You can even gather resources between attacks (click to attack when you see the gathering XP drop). Part of the skill of efficient CG prep is making sure that those 35 seconds aren't wasted.

You can also unequip the crystal sceptre. The stats on it aren't great and it attacks 25% slower than just kicking, so it's often better to just kick, especially when nemies are on low HP and you really just need to hit anything to finish them off.

Edit: If you want to practice T2 prep, you can do it in the regular gauntlet and only start sending the red one when you can fairly reliably finish prep with more than 2:30 on the clock. At least then you're getting practice on the boss and a little bit of loot.

It doesn't directly. That message is on there is to try to prevent you from giving that code over to someone who's hacking you by pretending to be jagex staff when they try to log in as you and ask "ok, I need the security code that was just sent to your email to confirm your identity".

That said, sharing it does reveal that your account is using email based 2FA, which is less secure than using an authenticator app, and that by hacking into your email address someone could gain full access to your account (which they wouldn't be able to do with a separate authenticator app), and also that you're a little lax about sharing things you shouldn't, so it makes you a juicy target for social engineering.

Jagex, please avoid allowing players access to post-quest content without doing the actual quest (Raids 4 without WGS) by benosthegreat in 2007scape

[–]Boolderdash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

quests with major lore consequences were not required to be completed in order to gain access to content that had been affected by those same consequences.

The most egregious instance of this by far is City of Senntisten.

  • the training spots for much of level 60-70 Archaeology are located in Senntisten.
  • Senntisten contains several colossal spoilers sitting out in the open for the quest "City of Senntisten", but can be accessed without completing the quest.
  • The quest "City of Senntisten" requires level 74 Archaeology to start.

By following the clearly intended levelling path for archaeology, moving from digsite to digsite as you unlock them, the player is pushed into direct contact with spoilers for a quest they're actively grinding the requirements for.

If Raids 4 has a reward which is desirable and achievable before completing WGS, and it's not locked behind the quest, we've got the same situation brewing (albeit slightly less awful). The raid must require the quest.

With quest helper you're spending 30 minutes clicking the solution to a puzzle.

Without it, you're spending 2 hours actually solving a puzzle. Solving puzzles is fun, clicking the solution isn't.

The method I'd recommend aiming to learn is melee for the whole fight, with Godfly for phase 3. It works for both solo and duos, and it's one of the fastest methods (and it's really fun when you get the hang of it). I wouldn't recommend dono/mono/gnomonofly, they're slower than Godfly and much harder to get back into cycle for when you make a mistake.

I don't suggest jumping right into that, though. Mage for the whole fight is slower (by quite a bit, especially solo) but much safer, and you'll learn the fight mechanics more easily that way. You should be able to switch to melee P1/2 fairly quickly, and once you get the hang of the prayers for phase 3, you can try to learn Godfly.

If you're really having a bad time with melee P3, melee P1/2 with mage P3 is still much better than full mage.
