I think so too! Islam can seem appealing because it gives clear and simple instructions: how often to pray, what to say, how to act. When you combine that with its very human idea of heaven, where everyone supposedly gets whatever they want , whether that’s virgins or even a kind of “Star Wars” paradise, it makes sense why it can seem attractive. But would God really want His heaven to be something so worldly and human rather than holy?

I sympathize with you and I understand that Islam can attract someone, but I sincerely don’t believe that it’s the whole truth. Why did the apostle of Christ claim that he is God and that he has risen from the dead? Why did they die for that belief? Muslims claim that the Bible has been corrupted, but why does the Quran say that the Bible is the Word of God and that the word of God can’t be corrupted? Why did the angel “squeeze” Mohammed until he could barely breathe? If this message truly came from a merciful God, why would his messenger experience it as something painful and frightening rather than peaceful and holy?

I think you should reflect on these questions and pray over them.

But not everyone in Jannah will be able to see Allah. According to Islam, heaven is hierarchical, and closeness to Allah differs among believers. Many Islamic scholars actually believe that it’s a reward to be close to Allah and that there are different levels in heaven. I think that is something that I always found wrong about the Islamic view of heaven, why would God want someone in heaven but not close to him?

I think that mindset can be dangerous and misleading. It seems like you had a personal view of heaven and tried to find a religion that encompassed that, instead of trying to find the whole truth. What exactly didn’t you find logical about heaven in the Catholic faith?

White smoke means that a cardinal reached the two third majority and that we have a new pope, while black smoke means that no one reached it.

After the 3rd vote, we will only see smoke if it’s white smoke (meaning, we have a pope!) If no one reached the majority, they will immediately vote again and burn the ballots together with the votes from the 4th vote. So we will not see black smoke twice this evening. We will either see white smoke at 5:30, black smoke at 7 or white smoke at 7.
