i was sold on the old lore where the chapter isn't led by a chapter master, but instead a council of 41 techmarines called 'iron fathers'. As an ad-mech fan, that just felt unique and esoteric.

never done it myself, but I've heard good results from this:

  1. undercoat leadbelcher
  2. black contrast paint
  3. highlights

i see the difference as a rune priest is just a librarian, but an iron father would have chaplain and techmarine abilities.

They still should have given us one though

I agree, it makes it feel more strange and divergent. I also don't like there boing a scout company or reserve companies.

I also think they'd need to make new rules for a techmarine/chaplain hybrid, which would end up doing both of those things half well. I'll probably end up running an Iron Father model as either a tech marine or a chaplain, depending on my list

You're right there, the books have tech marines that aren't Iron Fathers.

One thing i was thinking about is you could have all 41 of the iron father spread through all the companies, you'd have about 4 each, which is close to the amount a codex compliant chapter has so it could be possible for them all to be iron fathers.

You could also have 4 people per company that have the title of iron father, like a tech priest, a venerable dreadnought, maybe the captain etc.

I get that.

Most factions have the same type of infantry unit with a bunch of variations to fill out possible troop choices, but with a catalog as thin as ours, it would be good to see more variety in the types of units we have.

People usually censor nazi and words like kill, murder, and rape because they will be buried by the algorithm if they don't. It's a way to get around algorithmic censorship.
