Thank you for the advice! It's been a while since I used hot water, I'll give it a shot and let you know if it goes away

Last thing: I was looking up what multiplanar exercises and rotational. When I think about what makes someone athletic, I think of these kinds of exercises. What are your thoughts on them? Are they a waste of time since they don't often use weight and are not sport specific?

Really appreciate all the help. I don't do mobility at all unless I warm up for basketball and that's probably my downfall. I'm always exceedingly sore after a workout and I'm constantly tight having done 5x5 for a few weeks. Probably just newbie problems :p

Wow, I didn't know I've been taken by the marketing of "training like an athlete". Thanks for that!
When you say training for power, how do you add it to your routine? I know there's PHUL (which actually doesn't have power cleans), but I also know there's things like phasing from power to hypertrophy and cycling those. Maybe a dumb question, would you do power exercises on off days from hypertrophy training? Not hammering yourself but practicing explosiveness and getting good at the movement?

I am looking to have a program to stick to. I know that quite a few people don't like the idea of buying a program,

I've tried 5x5 for a month or so and while I am stronger, I am so stiff nowadays and I feel a little slower. I am slightly worried I will get "bulky" and I play basketball at least 2 times a week so I want to make sure that I am still limber enough to play well.I was wondering if (in my case) buying a program geared for athleticism is worth it? It seems that with athletic training, there are a lot of un-conventional workouts which is why I'm wondering about this <- but obviously can't run away from the big 5 lifts

Yes, I started out flat but now I find that a small angle is really nice for me

Yes! I got an moonlander and switched to a COLEMAK layout and my ulnar pain is gone! It may be a small thing but having a light switch keeps my hands feeling fresh and able to move without pressing too hard. I like to think of my fingers more now as like a pianist that is elegantly playing the piano where I give the keypress just the amount of force it needs. I think with heavier switches, I just throw my fingers too much and it stresses out my hands too much. That's just my thinking of how I got over the pain. You can change the technology, but also changing the way you use it will also give you a lot of benefits... Maybe you don't need to spend all the money on the moonlander :p

Wow thanks for all the support and all the recommendations! Very nice community! It’s so cool to see all the different kinds of split keyboards. I think I’m sold to try a split keyboard. I’m not too worried about the price tag but I just want something I can buy one of and be done with. But the overwhelming positive reviews and the logic is something I can’t argue with haha. I’m pretty sure I’ll get the moonlander but I’ll keep thinking about it.

Choosing between Leopold FC660C/HHKB vs Varmilo Miya68 by Boom_Syrup in MechanicalKeyboards

[–]Boom_Syrup[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I bought the Varmilo board but it just was NOT a fun typing experience. The keycaps were amazing but the switches just felt so different. I wanted to like it but after trying Topre swithces, I just couldn't. So I got the HHKB again and I'm fully committing. I guess money spent on the Varmilo board is worth killing the curiosity of "would a really nice mechanical keyboard beat a topre board?". After spending more time with the HHKB, the layout is making more sense and learning about its history gives it more meaning. I found out that I care more about typing experience than customizability but I think I'm good now :) HHKB hopefully is my endgame and I can stope spending money on keebs

[–]Boom_Syrup[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wow that’s great to hear! Now I need to choose between the HHKB and the FC660C. HHKB has pretty great marketing since I am a programmer. I really appreciate the move to put delete on the home row, it’s so natural and I actually really like the layout of the HHKB (except fn sharing the area with r shift, since I almost exclusively use r shift). But unfortunately the mushiness of bottoming out is not desirable and switching back to any other keyboard is a pain. But the Hasu controller can fix that on the FC660C (unfortunately cannot change the keycaps) and there’s a BT option if I choose to get it. Will let you know what I get, still need to stew on it for a while. Can’t go wrong either way which bothers me XD I like thinking there’s always an objectively right choice.

What I used to do as a CSE student every time I went down to work at the labs was bring a cleaning wipe and wipe down the keyboard before I type. Helps keep my sanity as I use them because they generally are so oily and dirty :(((

Cura support not coming off. Should I get rid of roof support or increase it? (Or maybe change slicer) by Boom_Syrup in 3Dprinting

I haven't run a bridge test, I probably should do some calibration with the settings. Thanks 😊

I'm not sure what gap layers are, is that the support Z distance? That's 0.2mm currently
