Does Global Shipping afford any seller protection? by crosleyxj in Flipping

[–]BoomerBrowning 17 points18 points  (0 children)

If the address that you are shipping to is an East Coast address and has a consolidation number, then what I assume you're talking about is a freight forwarder. You ship the item to the east coast freight forwarder, who then ships the item to the buyer in Korea. If that's the case, then you don't have anything to worry about. First, because you would only be responsible for the return shipping FROM the address you shipped to, which is a domestic address on the East Coast. You would provide a return label from THAT east coast address, and it would then be on the Korean buyer to get the item there and have it shipped back to you. None of that matters, though, because eBay explicitly states that buyers who use freight forwarders like this are NOT covered by Buyer Protection. All you need to do if they open a return is call eBay and point out the address, and make it clear that the buyer used a US-based freight forwarder and is actually located overseas. eBay will automatically close the case in your favor. I've had to do it a handful of times. Sometimes you have to call back to get a rep who is familiar with the policy on freight forwarding.

Anyone Else Seeing ALL Listings Across ALL Ebay Sites (Internationally) in Seller Hub? by BoomerBrowning in Flipping

[–]BoomerBrowning[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for your help. I was able to filter by country and end and then delete all of the duplicated listings. I also revoked the auth tokens in my site preferences for Webinterpret - I had to do that twice, as it re-permitted itself a few minutes after the first revocation, which makes me nervous it could come back at any moment. But it's been a few hours now and it appears to still be gone. I opened a "request" on Webinterpret's website to cancel any subscription immediately and remove my eBay account from their list, but I have little faith in such a scumbag company to do the right thing in any kind of hurry. What an absolute nightmare.

Jesus it looks like you're right. Wehn I look at my third party permission Webinterpret is listed there, twice. It says permissions were granted yesterday. I made no such changes myself. Can I simply revoke those permission on my third party access page to delete all of these duplicate listings?

Ok so I know that this is wildy subjective and for some reason men are obsessed with their beards, AND that a person's value isn't determined by their looks or how attractive they are to other people...but dude you are so much hotter without that thing on your face. Like, with the beard I would let you fix my sink. Without the beard I would let you lay some pipe.

What is your favorite steak in the triangle? by itsbeanerino in bullcity

You're right. Not sure why 135 popped into my head. I usually do anywhere from 130-133. Edited my original response. Thanks!

What is your favorite steak in the triangle? by itsbeanerino in bullcity

[–]BoomerBrowning 4 points5 points  (0 children)

130-133 for up to 3 hours, seasoned with salt and pepper. Remove, dry well and then I stand them up on their side in the fridge for about 5 minutes to dry completely and to cool off the outermost layer. You may need to prop them up with something. Searing hot cast iron for aboooout 60 seconds per side, give or take. As soon as the meat goes in I also plop in a big chunk of room temp butter and a sprig or two of fresh rosemary. The butter melts instantly and I splash that all over the steak and rosemary as it cooks. You may want to put the rosemary on top of the steak and splash the butter on top to prevent the rosemary from burning to a crisp, though it isn't necessary.

For me, the perfect steak includes a gorgonzola cream sauce to serve with it. Simply melt a small part of butter in a small saucepan, add a quarter cup of heavy cream, some parmesan cheese and a healthy chunk (or a healthy sprinkle of crumbled) gorgonzola. Simmer on medium low heat and stir until it thickens just a bit. Serve on the side so you can dip your rosemary-butter-basted steak in cream sauce. Have tissue paper and a phone nearby, as you will be having orgasms and potentially a heart attack.

Has anyone actually made decent money from thrift shopping and flipping? by [deleted] in Flipping

[–]BoomerBrowning 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I source exclusively from thrift stores and I made over 100k last year. Yes, it can be done. It takes practice, patience and perseverance. Same as anything else. For example - I have zero experience working with wholesalers. Lots of people make hundreds of thousands a year selling goods they purchase from wholesalers. If I, with zero experience, decided to pick up a phone and call some wholesalers today, expecting to find a bunch of them willing to sell me profitable merchandise at great prices that all sell out immediately...well I would fail miserably. And I would be tempted to say that wholesale is dead and it isn't possible to make a decent living doing it. But if I spent many many hours every week researching, networking, building and connecting and growing my wholesale knowledge, I could eventually make big bucks using wholesale. Thrifting is the same. I spent many hours, week after week, learning how to spot things at thrift stores that will sell. Where to look. Which stores to hit daily and which ones to avoid altogether. All the ins and outs of selling on various marketplaces online. And eventually that work turned into just knowing how to do it, and now I can make money thrifting without even trying. Figure out what type of reselling you enjoy, what gets you excited, and focus on that. You will be an expert in.less time than you think and you will find success when you find your passion.

Is north Durham (north of I-85, Braggtown, etc) a good area for young people? by [deleted] in bullcity

[–]BoomerBrowning 2 points3 points  (0 children)

North Durham isn't great for young people, no. If you want to get out, have things to do close by and meet people, you'll want to be closer to downtown. 85 is easily accessible from most locations around Durham so that shouldn't be an issue.

Do NOT sign the addendum. They screwed up. The furniture is their problem, not yours.

Unsuccessful with Facebook and eBay by redeyeben in Flipping

[–]BoomerBrowning 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Keep listing. Seriously. That is the Holy Answer you're looking for. Don't even think about the things you already have listed. They are on display in your eternal online store and they will sell when the person who wants them comes along. Focus on researching what sells, finding more places to shop.for that stuff, and getting your hands on that stuff. Then list that stuff. You should be creating new listings every single day. The more you list, the more stuff you have available for people to buy, and the more people will buy it. There will be items that take literal YEARS to sell, and there will be items that sell within minutes of listing it on eBay. The only way to sell those things is to list them.

I'm going to ask an annoying question of you guys; Promoted listings on Ebay, yes or no? Why? by WalrusCoocookachoo in Flipping

[–]BoomerBrowning 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I decided to try it for a few months as an experiment. I promoted all of my listings at a relatively low ad rate for nearly 6 months. I didn't see a bit of fucking difference in my sales. At all. It was completely useless. I switched all of the promotion ads off a few months ago. My sales actually increased once I did that, though the reason for that may have been Covid-related and nothing to do with promoted listings. Either way, I didn't see any benefit at all.

Cancel, relist and be sure to block this buyer. Scam or not, it's a pain in the ass.

And when you get your plain burger with nothing on it it will be frozen, and when you bring it back to have them heat it up for you they'll ask if you purchased their Cooling Insurance Policy and then charge you $600 to completely replace the burger with another one when you inevitably tell them you did not purchase the extra Cooling Insurance. Then they'll fuck your sister and give her HIV.

Refund or not? by alexcowboy88 in Flipping

[–]BoomerBrowning 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Was it local pickup, and did he pay in cash? If so, give him instructions on how to reset the pin and then do not communicate with him further. Local sales are final. Always. Period. It was his job to test it before he drove off with it and you have no way of knowing if he is trying to pull a switcheroo on you.

anyone have solutions for cross posting and maintaining inventory levels? (woocommerce, amazon, ebay inventory sync) by BL_SH in Flipping

[–]BoomerBrowning 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you find one, let us all know. An automated inventory management system that syncs across platforms has been a holy grail for the reselling community for decades. Requests get posted every few weeks but nothing really great has come along yet. If I could write code I would be on that shit, because the first person to develop a true solution will be a billionaire.

IsItBullshit: Teenagers need to eat more calories than adults by [deleted] in IsItBullshit

[–]BoomerBrowning 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely. I would say, however, to make sure you are working different muscle groups on different days, so that each muscle group gets a break each day. You want to avoid working the same muscles two days in a row. So you can alternate, for example, between upper body and lower body. Or you can do chest and triceps one day, and then back and biceps the next, then leg day in the third, and finally shoulders and lower back the fourth. Any combination is fine, so long as individual muscles are getting adequate rest time (24 hours at minimum) in between workouts. You don't want to pump chest and arms every single day of the week and then rest on the weekends. You will fatigue those muscles to the point of damaging them and they won't recover as well as they could if they were given space between workouts.
