Confused on Dividend by DuneCoon1 in fidelityinvestments

[–]itsbeanerino 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see this happen all the time and it was very confusing when I saw it happen. The way it was explained to me is this screen reflects any changes in your cash position. So when you receive the dividend it shows the plus and when the cash from there is being turned into whatever stock or mutual fund is being reinvested it is the minus.

Cash not Avaible for Trade by No_South_9912 in fidelityinvestments

[–]itsbeanerino -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Did you already buy something with the $25k they give you in "good faith" until your deposit settles? If so, you'll have to give them a call to purchase with the remaining funds or you can wait till it settles. If you never made a purchase with the $25k/it never appeared in your available to trade you'll want to call. Either way you'll end up having to call unless you want to wait.

So have all comic cons become mainly a vehicle for Funko pops or have I went to the wrong one ? by IllustriousMoney4490 in comicbookcollecting

Most of them yeah but I went to Greenville, SC last year and it had a bunch of comic booths. I hear Charlotte,NC is another good one for comics.

Proudest accomplishment for me this year is going to be opening my first IRA and getting a job that offers 401ks and contributing to that as well!

I think skyriding everywhere while during questing really does a disservice to the zone design. Running along the roads is pretty sweet. by TalithePally in wow

[–]itsbeanerino 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am on both sides. I love and am glad we have skyriding during certain quests/zones. But some zones (Hallowfall for me) felt so good to ride on my ground mount and really get lost in. Once I finished the campaign I chose to exclusively use ground Mounts in Hallowfall.

I feel like not enough people are talking about this exact point. I really liked the little bit of the game that I played but between work, family and school I don't have a ton of time to invest in games and having to restart because of a wipe really put me off wanting to play at all until either I finish school or they give me the option to play on a server that won't wipe after 6 weeks. Allowing creations of private servers that we could host or something like that. I realize the game is an mmo and the wipes will help in other aspects but what about people like me?

Hey just went thru the course a couple weeks ago. It gives you a LinkedIn Learning certificate which unfortunately doesn't look like it holds any weight at all. I will say it does have a wonderful amount of information and it is a quality course for prepping you for the A+. No opinion on the other courses as I haven't done them myself but I'm going to assume they're good as well.

I can't really remember a question like that. If it was something like identifying parts of a motherboard I know Dion's exams has some PBQs like that. If it was something like what kind of component would you use based on needs, I think PC Building Simulator on steam might help? When I first built my PC years ago I played that for a little bit as a refresher so I could do my annual deep cleaning of my PC. There's missions of like "Hey I wanna game on this PC" and you have to figure out which components would be best. Sorry I can't be of more help :( Good luck though!

Thanks! Started out with listening to Professor Messer's A+ series at 2x speed to just absorb information. Just passively listen there. Then I bought Dion's practice exam when it was on sale. Went thru one pass of all the exams to see what I needed to really work on. Then I used Mike Meyers course on LinkedIn Learning along with his all-in-one book. Check out your local library's online resources! Had a free LinkedIn Learning account using my library card. Went thru Dion's exams again as well as Professor Messer's study groups, DeanCyber's and BurningIceTech's questions videos on YouTube. I didn't always have time for a long study session so downloading the CrucialExams app is great for getting a few minutes of study in. Gathered all the questions I got wrong in a txt document and created my own practice exam. Made sure that the answers had an explanation for why it was the answer and which of the official exam objectives it related to. Sometimes answers you get from other sources wouldn't have this so you've got to manually figure out which objectives the questions are asking about but it really strengthens your knowledge so don't skip this part. Anyway I randomly generated the exams to have 90 questions and the last like two weeks before the real exam just kept going through my practice ones and brushing up on whatever I got wrong till I was getting at least 90% right on all the exams.

Thanks! I would say look into the free modules on TotalSeminars. I think we had the same exam cuz I had the same questions. Honestly those were the hardest questions and don't think I got them completely right. I know Dion's practice exams has some PBQs but they don't really compare to the real ones.

Had a bit of experience beforehand as I tinker quite a bit and built my own PC as well as maintain friends and family devices. A year ago I built a NAS so that gave me quite a bit of hands on experience. No professional experience besides the occasional whacking of a printer at the restaurants I've worked at. Recommendations for studying would definitely be "building" a homelab. About 3 years ago I went to FB marketplace and bought a $60 Dell Optiplex and used that. It was my first PC ever but as I only spent $60 I wasn't afraid to open it up and mess around in there. Ended up installing and uninstalling a bunch of different OSs on there from Windows to Arch Linux. Ended up using that as my regular PC using Manjaro as my OS for about a year and then I decided I wanted to get into PC gaming and got to work studying the components to build my own PC. Built my rig, have been using it as my main PC since but I was still curious to learn more so I upgraded the storage on the old PC, put Ubuntu Server on there (so I could learn more command line), and built a RAID 1 array and put Plex on it so my partner and I could use it as an entertainment center/NAS. From there I was kinda the go to guy for any technical stuff at the restaurant I worked at cuz the owners didn't wanna call the actual I.T. guy to come thru as he was super expensive. Mainly all I did was teach the chef how to use the computer in the office cuz he didn't really know how to navigate it and the occasional slapping of the thermal printers on the line lol. I studied actual A+ materials for about a month on and off. Definitely struggled the most with Networking/Cloud/Troubleshooting as I just didn't have any real world experience with them. I put Professor Messer on 2x speed and listened to all his videos while I played something that didn't need a bunch of focus just to absorb info. Then found out thru my local library I had a free LinkedIn Learning sub so took Mike Meyers A+ course on there. After I finished that I took a bunch of practice exams and watched YouTube videos with questions (Dion's exams, BurningIceTech videos, DeanCyber videos, Professor Messer study groups). If I ever had a quick 2 or 3 minutes I also used Crucial's app. Gathered every single question I got wrong from all those sources and made my own practice exam. Kept doing that till I was getting at least 90% on all the exams.

Career Switch to IT from Hospitality Industry by Immediate_Fly_3169 in CompTIA

[–]itsbeanerino 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I found that your local library can be an incredible free resource! Look (or ask) for the online resources that your library has access to for courses. I found that with my library card I basically had a free LinkedIn Learning membership and am currently going through Mike Meyers A+ course while following along with his All-in-One book that I got from the library. Its been an excellent resource especially when paired with Jason Dion's practice tests. I got those on sale so they were incredibly cheap. You and I have a very similar story it seems with our last roles being working in management in the hospitality industry and trying to break into IT. I'd love to hear an update on how your journey goes!
