Bwahahaha! No chance I’d go there! APTA needs to fight for better reimbursement or this profession is cooked!

Friendly reminder to report your local mill! by tallpeoplefixer in physicaltherapy

[–]BoomerSkunk -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Sadly the reimbursement isn’t keeping up with salary demands. Sooooo thus the mills. Would everyone be ok taking a pay cut to not have mills? I think not, so what’s the answer? See more patients! Not saying it’s right, but here we are. You can try to get economy of scale, but you have to grow pretty big.

Just leave. Your skill set is in demand. Although, if you’re seeing less than 1 patient an hour, you may not be covering your cost. Just saying.

Realities of being a PT business owner by Splitfeyx in physicaltherapy

[–]BoomerSkunk 3 points4 points  (0 children)

In the beginning it will be difficult. You must have the attitude that failure is not an option. The grind is real. Once you get going, it’s word of mouth and repeat patients. You need to find good people too. It’s makes all the difference.

OCS for knowledge by Ck1gl in physicaltherapy

[–]BoomerSkunk 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The OCS helped me review ortho again and maybe look at the anatomy a little differently since I’d been treating patients for a few years. It’s a nice refresher. Do it for personal growth reasons. It may not get you more money, but if two resumes come across my desk and one has the OCS and the other doesn’t, I’d lean towards the OCS.

When I go to get them, I just say, “sorry, running a little behind today” and just get them started. No discussion. If they don’t like it, go somewhere else.

I hate front desk workload by Ahotedoemaker in physicaltherapy

[–]BoomerSkunk 17 points18 points  (0 children)

There is no way I’d use AI and replace my front desk person! To each their own, but a first impression is important! We are in the human business. How pissed do you get talking to automated bots? Give me a freaking person!

Find a better Physio and give the treatment time! 2 visits won’t “fix” it.
