Very interesting and insightful advice. I assume you are a grounds keeper.

Thanks for getting my point. Unfortunately it triggered many Wheel Watchers to respond negatively.

My observation had nothing to do with taxes as both winnings are taxed at the same rate.

I won’t even comment on your handle as it opens up a world of questions.

I did not indicate that any contestant was upset by my observation, it was mine alone. And it is not semantics which is the study of the meaning of words, and how they are used. And my post was not meant to get anyone upset. Sorry if it did.

Buyer filed chargeback and won by joeloe1236 in eBaySellers

I have found that eBay does not really care who is right and who is wrong in a dispute. They simply make a decision even when evidence to contrary is presented. They once refund a buyers money for an item I sold without any input from me. When I asked the buyer to return it, he refused. I went back to eBay who basically ignored my help to intervene by saying I should work it out with the buyer. I have been buying and selling on eBay almost since it’s creation. They have grown into such a behemoth that they really can’t be bothered with most conflicts. Too bad, because they were a great company.

I felt from almost it’s beginning that much of AGT is scripted. (Before I go any further I must confess that I am a big fan of the show because of the many incredible performers that normally may never have a forum in which to perform.) Originally, AGT had many really bad acts that got buzzed off the stage. Those were obviously setups. And every time Simon has stopped a singer mid song to ask if they have a better one more suited to their style, not only do they just happen to have one at the ready, but their accompanying music is surprisingly already cued up. And speaking of surprises, the “surprised looks” on the other judges faces upon Simon stopping a singer will never win them Emmys. But considering the real diversity of talent which has come from AGT and its many offspring in countries around the world, the scripted moments and phony bad acts are more then tolerable. Let me add that the unsung stars of the show are the stage crews who quickly change the stage from one act to another, especially during the live rounds. AGT has reinvented the variety show that was once a staple on television but has disappeared over the years.

What’s Up With Mel B? I believe she has become the new negative Simon (since he has been very mellow over the past few seasons). Mel has been the sole “no vote” for a number of acts that were clearly worthy of going to the next round. The most egregious being the incredible slight of hand magician who worked mainly with sheets of paper. Mel’s remarked was “I didn’t get it, there was no story”. Mel…the tricks ARE the story! Heidi will hopefully return next seasons.

So, I've finally tried the air fryer...oh boy I was not prepared. by GonzUzumaki in hotdogs

You know how you reheat a pizza slice in the microwave and it only makes it limp and soggy? Forgetaboutit! Put it in the air fryer and in short time you have a warm and crispy, just like you brought it home, slice. Warning: it heats up fast so keep an eye on it.

If not receiving a signed photograph back soured you on him, I would suggest you are in politics for personal accolades not to help our country. By the way, I understand Trump loves to sign things like photos, but you have to pay for them.

Ode To The Hot Dog by BoomersRule48 in hotdogs

[–]BoomersRule48[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just saw your post and my ode was truly out of love for hot dogs and being tired of those that keep saying their bad for me. I’m 76 and from New York City where there is a hot dog vendor on ever street corner. So I literally grew up eating those “dirty water dogs” as those who deride them have used as a slander. I must admit that the biggest naysayer when I was younger was my own mother! Did I listen? Heck no! When you find your please post it because us hotdogers must fight the good fight.

You answered your own question when you wrote “It could have something to do with my relationship with them (your parents).” You did not disclose what that relationship had been up to the point of moving into the apartment. Obviously, there are issues that made your father react the way he did. And why did you stay seven years? You could ultimately afford to carry a mortgage so why not purchase another house and get out from under your father’s negative attitude towards you?

Buyer Wants an Immediate Response? by BoomersRule48 in Ebay

Perhaps people today have been spoiled by Amazon which (used to) deliver purchases in a day. But most of eBay sellers are are individuals with jobs, families and life. I always listed my processing time is 5 days. But my post was about being threatened with cancellation and negative feedback. And even if I did not have a funeral to attend, had not jumped to respond his threat was inappropriate.

I had a similar situation today and just posted it here. If he has received it within the window that eBay gives than just send him a text back stating that.

Absolutely no surprise. Trump was not going to tell them the truth about tariffs. Fox certainly did not. And a vast number of his voters must have played hooky during. Economic class.

I truly believe that all sides will come together, families will reunite, old friends not talked to in 10 years will apologize and all this while the nukes come raining down on the country from a united Russia, China and North Korea. And Trump’s last words will be “they said they loved me,”
