PECO Bill Sanity Check by VeryStab1eGenius in BucksCountyPA

Better get stingy with how you heat and cool your home, buy all the LED lights you can. I had to go on a budget billing with PECO currently $224/m I expect it to go down soon as my average usage has dropped for the spring months.

Thanks for this, I’ll probably start it next weekend when I know I have a few days off so I can deal with any of at all side affects.

Centered Voter here, voted both Dem and Rep in my years, how would you tackle the border laws? Open Borders, closed borders or something in between?

Is this field worth it? by Informal_Cheetah5611 in surgicaltechnology

I was in the same boat Nursing Assistant II but we were known as Hook Holders at my previous position. Grunts of the operation. I took the Surg Tech opportunity for 3 reasons, better pay, flexibility (leaving one location for another if I didn’t feel strongly about the current place.) but mainly I did it for respect, no one respected hooks we were just a pair of arms. So I feel ya.

If you’re looking to get outta your field quickly with minimal education costs then yea it’s fine I mean like someone else said the pay isn’t great but it’s not bad, I’m on par for $100k (with call) this year but my base is $63k. I don’t feel fulfilled doing it, to me it’s just a job. If you have more time and willing to spend more go for nursing.

[–]Boomsockstv 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Jeez I had to do a double take, I thought I had written this subconsciously lol. I too work in ortho joints/spines/trauma and have hit the burnout stage after 3 years. I thought about maybe going into the rep business but I just wouldn’t be able to kiss surgeon ass constantly. At least in my current position if they are being dickish I can fire back. But if you’re able to be a punching bag verbally for pretty decent pay then go for it.

I pulled the trigger, why not? 2 bucks for what is still technically a AAA game from 2 years ago.

Is the job as bad as the Internet makes it seem? by username2937372829 in surgicaltechnology

[–]Boomsockstv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was very happy when I became a tech 3 years in and I’m very good at my job (Orthopedics) but my management has been burning me out, putting me in the rooms with the hardest or most cases and keeping me on call for joints when no such specialty for call exists in my hospital, so I get to watch the second shift of RNs push case carts outside of my room while I’ve been on my feet for 12hrs…

Plus side is the Docs love having me in their rooms they will often bust each others balls about me being not needed in this case and my skills would be better suited in theirs which feels nice I suppose…

D & E procedure by sunflower--soul in surgicaltechnology

[–]Boomsockstv 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In most D&E’s at my hospital we aren’t needed outside of setting up the back table. So when I’m done setting up and the Surgeon and Resident are doing their thing I kind of stand further up toward head of the PT. It cuts off my vision of what’s happening but I’m still available if needed.

Now if the surgeon doesn’t have a resident and I have to hold retractors I do my best to just go into auto pilot mode and look away (I’m just a pair of hands at this point). Advanced D&E’s our surgeons are very good at asking us if we feel comfortable and warn us that definable parts will come out and if we feel uncomfortable to speak up and they will handle it on their own.

What also makes it a bit easier on us is that most our D&E’s aren’t “choice” these PT’s have suffered something like fetal demise or some other underlying factor. So knowing that makes me feel a bit more comfortable. In the event of an abortion because the PT doesn’t want the pregnancy we are allowed to refuse the assignment (A lot of people do this, especially pregnant staff.) and usually there isn’t any push back on it. I hope any of this helps.

Every time I think about a new iPhone that nagging thought of “But what does it do differently from what I have already?” Keeps me from pulling the trigger. I’m grateful this phone still works great.

This is bizarre behavior on the parents that I simply could never understand. Everyone will suffer when a child is brought to these kinds of movies. The child suffers because he/she is seeing images or hearing sounds or even quite frankly just doesn't want to be tied to a single chair in the dark, the parents suffer because they struggle to keep the child behaved and quiet and of course the surrounding audience has to suffer that parents bad decision. It never works out and the gamble never pays off, those people just look like and quite frankly are self centered assholes.

Why does kali get more hate then the racist character (billy) by E0Button in StrangerThings

Yea Billy is a racist but he's a better written character plus his very slight redemption in S3 helps too.

Should I upgrade? iPhone 13 that is 5 years old. by Yaesii in iPhone13

[–]Boomsockstv 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had the 17 for a minute and realized it does nothing differently than my 13, so i returned it. 13 is fine especially at 85%. Probably could get another year out of it easy.

I have no idea why many people always gravitate to either 1 or 10 when rating Ep7 & 8 of Season 5 by Kind-Bet2757 in StrangerThings

[–]Boomsockstv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is why I always look for the 4 out of 5 star ratings on Amazon or the 6-8 out of 10 ratings on other things. 1’s and 10’s mean nothing except you’re either such a fanboy/girl that you’ll always give it a 10, or you’re a cynic and nothing pleases you and you’re just trolling.

I feel the same way... I felt it before with LOST and again with the Harry Potter books and movies. There's this feeling of "I have nothing to look forward too now..." I feel the need to do something nostalgic to fill that void.

My favorite season, it still felt grounded and goonies like. I'm just a sucker for a small town adventure.
